I had my novation xio controlling nlog synth on my iphone tonight through the camera connection kit. Very cool! I used the synthstation 25 during my gig tonight, playing bass parts when I was using the xio for supersaw synth parts (my xio does the synth bass parts usually- I am a bassist) on things like "Just Dance." But, awesome tweak- cameraconnector is on the cydia store, only 99 cents, a no brainer if I have heard one. |

Is your iPhone jailbroken? If I'm not mistaken, I believe most of us aren't running jailbroken. |

I believe iconnectmidi will work with an iPhone without jail breaking. |

Yes, it is jailbroken. Hopefully it is not against KVR rules to discuss that, if it is I will delete the topic. However, I am not doing anything illegal with my phone, I don't use any cracked software (which is possible with a jailbreak but not a topic I am interested in, I like my phone to actually work!). Anyway, it will be useful for me and hopefully others find it useful as well. |

This has had a lot of good feedback from folks who have tested it.
MusicApps.com.br has one reader who submitted a video of testing. The site is Portuguese but the video is in English: http://musicapps.com.br/2012/08/iphone-com-camera-connection -kit-e-acessorios-musicais-video/ My own readers have reported good results and have some tips on getting keyboards to work. One iPhone 3GS owner could not get it to work at all though. http://discchord.com/blog/2012/8/2/camera-connection-kit-hac k-for-iphone.html |

Nah, we just wanted clarification whether it would work for us non-jailbroken users. LOL, my iPhone works awesome... even as a phone. teehee. #1 Did you put the phone into "airplane mode" for the gig? #2 Are you using the Apple CCK or a knock-off? There is a difference. ---- "All generalizations are false"! |

Granted they're the only ones that provide the multi-computer MIDI intefacing, but most would be happy with a single MIDI I/O for one device with the same versatility. |

I bought a knock-off connector, should arrive tomorrow, so we'll see. If it doesn't work, then I know it's the connector because the one I used yesterday belonged to my friend who was photographing our gig and it was the real one. Oh, and yes, airplane mode. Ask me how I learned to make SURE I put it in airplane mode? ha...Yes, the ringer is LOUD through a PA, as the guests at a wedding 2 weeks ago found out (During Just my Imagination by the Temptations no less...). But no, for this to work you need to be jailbroken. But, for many reasons, totally worth jailbreaking the phone. Direct access to controls such as wifi, bluetooth, etc, and the ability to put folders within folders on springboard makes it much cooler. I have a synthstation 25 that is running the iphone for keys on stage, along with my xio which is my main keyboard, but knowing I can connect my phone to a full sized keyboard is good, some of these synths on ios sound really great and unique and it would be cool to not always be tied to mini keys, not that I play any better on full sized keys... I just got cassini today and looking forward to digging into it more, having that 3rd oscillator plus the sub oscillator will be nice for synth bass. |

The main reason I bought it though is the fact that you can use a powered USB hub to link eight devices and controllers together WITHOUT a computer. Kinda cool. Only problem for me is my batch got recalled because of some faulty soldering, and now I have to wait a few weeks to get it back. |

I'm hoping that iceGear add support for the SS25 to CASSINI for iPhone like they did for Argon Hmm, I wonder if they'll add SS49 support to CASSINI for iPad. Now that would be good |

I'm happy to report that the generic, $3.49 camera connector I got on ebay works with the iphone and this tweak. The pitch bend was sending all of the synths into a frenzy of stuck notes, etc, but that could be the roland alpha juno I was using to control it with the generic midi-usb cable. I will try it later when I get to my gig with my xio through usb and see if that makes a difference. |

Hello, good to hear that the generic cck is working. Which one is it? The 5 in 1? It would be nice, if we could make a list of working generic devices/.. |
