Hi folks,

so finally after quite a few months, new version of MDrummer is here. The new version of MDrummer adds rhythm generator in-sync preview, oscillators edited using harmonics, MGranular effect, fixes several problems and more. Check http://www.meldaproduction.com/ for more information.

Cheers!

So I downloaded and ran the updater against my 4.02 install. Running Win 7 x64, and I had both 32bit and 64bit VST installed.

First scary moment, updater did not ask where the VST's were installed. That's never good, and wasn't in this case.

My 32bit 4.02 DLL's were deleted and replaced with 64bit 4.03 DLL's. The 64bit DLL's were left as 4.02

Um, pretty please could you change your installers to ASK where to put the 32bit VST DLL's and, separately, ASK where to put the 64bit DLL's? And to always ASK, not just guess?

So now how do I get my 32bit VST DLL's back, either 4.02 or 4.03?

I second this request, please separate 32/64bit, at least for VST2.

Additionally it would be great if the installers would globally remember the user-chosen paths.
It became rather frustrating, while evaluating some individual plugins, to keep changing the wrongly guessed VST2 path over and over.

Please? Smile

The updater remembers what you used in the installer, so if you moved it, then I'm afraid that's your tricky business. The installer chooses between a few typical VST plugin paths and uses the first one that exists, usually C:/program files/vstplugins
I'm not really sure how to understand what happened to your DLLs, but you can always take those from the installation folder - there's a "VST" directory, which contains the plugins, they work as VST and VST3, so you just need to place them wherever you need (if you don't use standard paths, as you probably don't) and rename them to *.vst3 if necessary.

The VST directory also only contains the 64bit DLL's. And I noticed that the standalone (in the directory above the VST directory) is now 64bit, where it had been 32bit before the update (or at least didn't have '64' in it's name).

As to being 'tricky', because the installer won't let you install the 64bit VSTi's to a different directory from the 32bit VSTi's, there really isn't any choice but to be 'tricky'. It would help if the installer asked for paths for both. As it ALWAYS should.

Aaaah, that's what you mean. Yes I agree, installing them to the same directory isn't the greatest option, I'll add it to to-do list. The thing is that the 32+64 option has been added there afterwards, most people don't need that, and it was a little technical difficulty stuff.

There are no 32-bit VSTs in the VST subdirectory of the installation directory? You installed 32-bit and it replaced it with 64-bit???

Correct. MDrummer.dll does not exist on my system anywhere, including the VST directory that's in the same MDrummer 4 Large directory as DrumsetGenerator, DrumsetLayers, Drumsets, etc. Is that what you mean by "installation directory"?

I originally (v4.02) installed both. It looks like the updater deleted the 4.02 32bit and 64bit DLL's and only copied in the new 64bit DLL's. The updater doesn't ask about 32bit or 64bit or both. It also delted the 32bit standalone EXE that was installed and copied in a 64bit EXE. I don't recall if the 64bit EXE was there before.

Ok, I'll try again with the 32-bit installation. Right now, my advice would be to get the newest installer, or just use the previous one if you have it.
