Wow, that sounds awesome. I think it's time to get an iPad and a key station 49. When my bank account agrees it will happen. |

Yea that is a great intro video. The factory presets are a credit to Sunsine Audio's sound design. |

This and Cassini for iPad are just too cool. I feel like I spent a couple hundred bucks for the two, then I realize I didnt even spend 10. |

I was not WOWed by Cassini, but Magellan BLEW ME AWAY!
I bought it on sight and I am so glad I did. That is one heck of a synth. It's sound is HUGE! Mike |

I picked Cassini and Magellan up last night (especially since they are on sale), and played around with them. I like a lot of the Bass sounds that come from Cassini. Magellan, I need to play a little longer with to decide how I feel about it. The patches sound drenched in effects. While this is not necessarily a bad thing, I want to play with the synth a little more before I decide how I feel about it. I love Magellan. Not played around too much with Cassini yet. The interface in Cassini is very uninspiring. Kind of like staring at a blank piece of paper. Magellan is the complete opposite 😃Sunrizer and Magellan for me. |

A bit of a 'wow' moment using this and 'midi guitar' app
This is the best synth i've tried so far for playing with my guitar- some pretty fat bass sounds, especially enabling the 2 synths to trigger on midi channel 1 (that the midi guitar app is coming in on..) Synth 2 just seems to be a stringy synth sort of sound in just about all the presets tho, is it limited to that sort of sound? It is good for putting a bit of atmosphere behind the bass/lead sounds when triggering it with my guitar tho, so no complaints there.. |

OK, you got me.
I don't usually fall in line and run out to get the latest app, but Magellan for the iPad is laid out very logically and just the right size for my fat fingers. The layout is organized logically making tweaks fast and I can quickly get the envelopes dialed in the way I want. Usually a synth comes with a few decent patches and a lot of bad ones. Not here. Every sound I tried was full and clear and totally useable. The volume levels from patch to patch were well balanced too. The effects section is an awesome bonus. No lack of quality there either. Magellan looks like it will quickly rise to the top 3 sound creation apps on my iPad. [edit] I did notice that many patches have the mod wheel defaulting to half-way. Interesting technique. ---- "All generalizations are false"! |

When you select a patch from the browser, it is only loading into whichever synth is selected- the patches don't load into both at the same time. |

Are we listening to the same app? Patch volumes are my only real criticism of this synth, as I found them to vary wildly (using headphones). Other than that I'm enjoying it so far. |
