Hi,
Am totally lost in the art of Linux's cross-platform sampler, so i hope you guys can help me out. Today i've purchased the shreddage sfz. library and downloaded the files along with the Linux sampler. Now, i've installed the Linux package but i don't know how i get it into FL Studio 10's plug-in list. I've searched my hard drive and found the linuxsampler folder but opening that reveals numerous dll. files, i've copied the 'linuxsampler dll.' into fl studio's plug in folders (both the effects and instrument list to make sure) but nothing seems to work. I know i'm doing something wrong but i don't know what. Can someone help me, please? Thanks in advance. Oh, sorry...Win 7, Home Premium. : EDIT Sorry (again) found it, the dll. is in the steinberg vst folder. Thanks anyway, guys. |

Hi, Andrew,
I know that you recommend the Linuxsampler to use with your files, and a great sampler it is, too...but, i'm thinking of trying it with the 'Aria Player' and was wondering if you, or anyone for that matter, could instruct me how to load the sfz files into the aria player? Sorry for being such a noob and thanks for any help. Scar. |

You should just be able ro right-click in the cell where you want to load the patch, and select "Import". ---- Zebra 2 Tetralogy - 188 Dance/Electronic Presets! Impact Soundworks - Electric + acoustic guitar, big metals, world instruments and more! |

Hi Scara. Which .sfz files are you trying to load? For them to work, they have to be in the Shreddage Root directory (the same place as the Samples and XSamples folders). The.sfz files in the "Patches with Releases (ARIA, SFZ, DIM)" folder has to be moved to the parent directory before loading. ---- Raconteur, Troubadour |

Lol!!...when it comes to moving files and folders around, i'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, i can copy and paste if need be but, going into folders and putting this file here and swapping this folder for that one, blah, blah...what the hells a parent directory? can you find it in the yellow pages? And...root directory? Oh well, Linuxsampler it is, then. Thanks though, Baard, your attempt to help me is very much appreciated. Scar. |

By root directory, he means the folder that contains all the other Shreddage folders. So for example, if you are in a folder that contains:
* Amp Sim Presets * Example MIDIs * Samples * Single Patches (etc) Then you are in the root directory. So, you would move the SFZ files from the "Patches with Release (ARIA, SFZ, DIM)" to the root directory. ---- Zebra 2 Tetralogy - 188 Dance/Electronic Presets! Thanks, zircon.
Scar. EDIT: checked...all the SFZ files are already in the folder containing those files (amp sim presets, example MIDIs, Patches without Release, etc.) message from Instrument Parser still the same. Sorry, Scar. |

Would you mind taking a screenshot of the Shreddage SFZ folder so I can see the files + structure? ---- Zebra 2 Tetralogy - 188 Dance/Electronic Presets! Impact Soundworks - Electric + acoustic guitar, big metals, world instruments and more! |

This is weird, the folder structure looks correct to me, but perhaps Zircon sees something I have missed.
I just loaded the "Shreddage X Master.sfz" into my own ARIA player without any problems. Not much help I know, but rest assured that Shreddage works fine in ARIA. I actually used it a lot for testing when I wrote the sfz code for Shreddage. Normally this error shows up when some or all of the files have been moved, renamed or put into subfolders. As long as they are named and placed as they were when you unpacked it in the first place, things should work. One thing.. Is your ARIA up to date? You can get the latest engine and player from the Garritan or Plogue page if not. (I dont believe its the issue in this case, but its worth a shot..) ---- Raconteur, Troubadour |

Actually, Baard...i'm awaiting the next release of the aria player, which is almost here (few bugs need ironing out) but, yeah...i have the latest player for the engine.
Would a complete re-installation of the Shreddage package make any difference you think? Anyway, thanks for all your help (again EDIT: Hold it!...got it working, don't ask me how. I just loaded it the way i've done for the past couple of days and all of a sudden it loaded without any problems, no messages, nothing. I'm really sorry guys for messing you about, thanks for your time and patience. Scar. |
