The points in the envelopes are now easier to move. It was an annoyance before! |

I had no problem sending the midi to the mba network port, didn't try on the pc yet but should work fine with rtpmidi.
Btw, playing only with the keyboard, it sends note with velocity, aftertouch(both channel and poly with the same amount) when sliding up/down then sometimes it sends some cc99 when sllding left or right, not sure what this does. When sliding left right the new note on will be sent before the previous note off, most synths will play legato in this case. It will also output any assigned controller, to set up make assign cc look green, double tap any of the small squares and enter the cc message you want for that knob. This is actually pretty well done and imo worth the extra bucks for midi out as this can make a pretty cool controller for your vsti. |

edit: how does this poly-pressure work anyway?
From what I read, shouldn't it send a different CC for every key? |

From what I read, shouldn't it send a different CC for every key? You just slide your finger forward on the note - very intuitive and expressive ---- My free patches here http://fingermarks.co.uk/music2.htm My Soundcloud page: http://soundcloud.com/amused ![]() |

It's not a CC but a specific midi message like note on, off, prog change, pitch wheel, cc, channel pressure, sysex. Currently there aren't to many synths (hard or soft) that will deal with it, and that's probably why they decided to send channel aftertouch at the same time. Now I'm not sure, but I think that vst3 plugs should be able to deal with per note modulation, so maybe in some host it could be possible to convert poly-aft to something else, like a per note cutoff or what ever. |

Anyone managed to get this working over wifi? I can see I need to select a network session and if I do it then shows me midi out but Logic doesn't seem to pick it up. I am using an adhoc connection - do I need to do anything else? ---- My free patches here http://fingermarks.co.uk/music2.htm My Soundcloud page: http://soundcloud.com/amused ![]() |

You need to set it up in the audio midi settings config, select the network midi device and create a connection.
It's working ok here thought I have some glitches once in a while, will try an ad hoc connection tomorrow. |

Thanks, it's working now. I have the XY controlling morphing in Sculpture (set cc to 16 and 17) - no latency with adhoc! ---- My free patches here http://fingermarks.co.uk/music2.htm My Soundcloud page: http://soundcloud.com/amused ![]() |

Indeed it's much better using the adhoc connection. Even adding a second ipad and the latency/transmission is good.
When using 2 ipads with a 7 tone scale it's pretty close to a 70 key regular keyboard, with 2 xy pads, a few other knobs, a couple of envelopes and poly aftertouch, not bad. Only problem is to find some plugs that can deal with poly-aft, but even channel pressure is nice and somehow easier to use than on a regular controller where it's often zero or full strength. Few things I would like to see: A sustenuto button/switch (animoog dealing with it, not just sending a CC) Mono for midi out Map CC management, saving loading The root key text should be in a different color Jumping mode for the xy pad A screen with two keyboards and longer keys, bigger pitch and mod wheels |

It seems I was right - I've put together a list based on this thread and my own tests so far:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=323998&postday s=0&postorder=asc&start=0 Logic Pro: Sculpture, ES2 Native Instruments: Kontakt, Reaktor, Kore 2 LinPlug: Albino 3 Alchemy Vember Audio Surge impOSCar2 MiniMonsta Omnisphere All XILS-Lab synths All Arturia synths All u-he synths Waldorf Largo (maybe all?) Korg Legacy: Wavestation and M1 (maybe all?) Virsyn: Tera (maybe all?) MachFive AAS synths Memorymoon me80 D-Cam synths SQ8L so pretty much all the best synths do support it - but this is also dependent on the host. Clearly Logic and Cubase do, so does Reaper. Ableton Live does not. FL Studio support is reported as flaky in that thread. Not sure about Studio One but would be very surprised if it didn't. ---- My free patches here http://fingermarks.co.uk/music2.htm My Soundcloud page: http://soundcloud.com/amused ![]() |

On my system (Studio One 2.0.6 and iRig MIDI), aftertouch is recorded from Animoog. However, when I play the track, Animoog sounds as if no aftertouch data is being received even though the MIDI IN activity indicator on the iRig MIDI shows data is being sent.
I wonder if this may be related to the known issue at the following thread?
