Hello everyone,

I just created a modified version of the instrument and did some scripting for StrumGTR - Electric. Keygender and Strokedirection are now keychanges, alternation of stokedirection can be automated and scales can be chosen to automatically decide if a key is major or minor.
The instrument was created with Kontakt 5.0.2 and has been successfully tested to work on several systems with at least this version. As there were problems opening it for Wavesfactory,
Quote:
it says 'this patch is corrupt and cannot be loaded'
I would be happy, if you could test it on your systems. Just copy the instrument file into the same folder as the original instrument and the "Samples"-folder. I don't own a copy of an older version of Kontakt, so I cannot create a version for compatibility with them.

the instrument file can be downloaded here:

Thanks

[EDIT]
new versions should work with Kontakt 4.1.1 and higher

I'm having no trouble opening this in Kontakt Player 5.0.3. I'll see if I can convert it to work in Kontakt 4.

This script is really great I must say. An improvement would be to have the C/D notes (36 and 38 ) to edit the scale of the current note playing instead of switching the whole scale. So if I play in C major scale and need a A major, I could press C (note 36) and then A major would play. But when I play another note, it should follow the C major scale.

I'll try to make some changes to the scripts myself. Haven't done any Kontakt scripting before, but I'll poke around and see if I can get some changes done. Had some trouble getting sound in Kontakt 4, but I'm sure NI have some documentations on script writing published somewhere.

Thanks for the update. The ability to switch scale with notes 36/38 is a great add-on. Makes it possible to jam along without using the mouse.

But what I meant to suggest, was actually a little different Smile I was trying to describe the ability to change from maj to min (or the other way) for a single chord. The key would function so that the next chord played has the opposite "mode" of what it normally would play. So a maj chord would be min, and a min would be maj. But it should not switch the scale. And it should only be used for the chord after the key was pressed.

Let me give an example. You play a song in C major. But during one part of the song, you want to play the A major chord (instead of the A minor chord which belongs to the C major scale). So just before the A major chord is to be played, I would press one key (for instance the B key 35). This would switch the "min/maj" mode of the next chord I play. So if the note was originally supposed to give me A minor chord, I would get A major chord. But this should only last while the same chord is being played. So the scale should still be C major. Thus if the nect note is C, then C maj chord is played. And if I play A after that, it should stick to the C-maj scale and play A minor chord.

I tried to program such a chord-inverter. You can trigger it with Bb (34).

A new version with this feature can be found in the known folder:

Tried the patch today and I'm really impressed Smile This makes the sound sample library 100% more playable. Thanks for the effort!

Did you record any single notes when you made the StrumGTR? I was thinking about extending the patch Prostetnic Jeltz made by defining an octave where you can add single notes to the chord played. I guess I could use notes from another sample library, but original notes will blend better.

I'm glad you like it. There is one last version with some bug fixes.
The main fix is related to the chord inverter:
If you trigger the chord-inverter when it is already activated, it now waits for the next note. If this new note differs from the old one, the inverter stays active, otherwise it deactivates (goes back into scale).

same folder as always:

By the way: the script behind this should also work with Ukulele Strum (if you remap the samples)
