The Gehu has a designflaw in the resonationchamber. That's why it doesn't perform as versatile as the Cello. If the shape of the resonation chamber can remain intact yet a bit more funnel-shaped, i think this would improve the sound a lot.
But because it was a 20th century instrument i can understand it is not seen as a traditional Chinese instrument. |
