jasinski wrote: Yeah, i wasn't sure abou that either- well this was more of a "fun" experiment so if it's disqualified then I'm ok with it. The amp/cab is adding a bit of crunch but the character of the guitar sounds is pretty much intact. I put them in the presets I posted earlier so you can compare if you like
I think it's fine too as in my mind amp/cab is basically saturation/distortion and EQ, no? Besides, only pure modulation effects are outlawed so if not in use and the original sound is not 'beyond recognition' it's fine. We want to hear good sounds after all. @Angelremington: Using several DAWs etc is no problem, but do try some easy fixes first, I recommend for example You Wa Shock! on the master bus (tweak the amount knob), as that does it all in one plugin, or do it manually with multiband compressors, saturators (check Variety of Sound) and steroizers (check Rescue by Variety of Sound). |

My entry No. 4, composed and all work done today in ~ 14 hours non - stop... hope you like it Angelremington - Beautiful Day, composed 100% by myself and especially for KVR One Synth challenge, using only one Synthesizer: Dune BE. (Thank You Jasinski for the free presets, I've used kick, hats, crash, snare and guitar) All work done 100% in Reaper. Dune BE: 21 instances / tracks. Effects used: the ones in reaper (delay, compressor, EQ etc) freeware: Filterbank V3, KR reverb, Limiter No. 6 and UpStereo. Tempo 140bpm, Key C-minor, Progression: Cm, Fm, Gm, Bb http://soundcloud.com/georgeangelov/angelremington-beautiful -day |

Very good stuff. You used modulation matrix of some of them extensively! I liked one of the kicks which sounds very punchy and fat, and a hihat which is very realistic. Great work on this! |

This is too weird... I was thinking that it's been totally quiet here for a week since I didn't get any email notifications. Of course, lots of activity has been happening, somehow I just didn't receive the notifications.
Lots of great submissions. It is shaping up to become another great month. I echo what you guys are saying, Dune is a fantastic synth! It will become one of my regular tools. Jasinski, it is very generous of you to share your presets, thank you! I haven't tried them out yet, but they sound fantastic on your track. |

bzur wrote: Hi, is anybody else experiencing some stability issues with Cubase 6.5 @64 bit and Dune? It often freezes, especially while saving the project.
Yep, same here. I've got 6.5.3 and Dune was simply too unstable under 64-bit Cubase. I installed and patched the 32-bit version of 6.5.3 and that seems to be working all right. I hear jbridge is good, but I don't think I'm losing much by just switching to 32-bit Cubase for the time being. ---- PC: i7-950 @ 3.06 GHZ | Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 | 12 GB DDR3 1333 HW: Akai MPK49 | MOTU PCIe-424 & 24I/O | Blofeld | Virus TI Desktop | MKS-7/20/30/50/70/80 SW: 64-bit Win 7 SP-1 | Cubase 6.5 |

I've used Cubase Studio 4 - I've never unistalled it... - but I'm going to install the 32bit version of Cubase 6.5, it seems a good idea, as well. Thanks for the feedback |

Ok, I put together a second track on this contest. I don't normally do that but I really liked this synth. Don't want to overload you guys but well here goes:

Nice track Jasinski. BTW I'm working on a partly orchestral track that I was also thinking of naming Arrakis. I'll think of some other name now. |

There can be two Arrakises. It's kind of a no-brainer for the track name when you're working with a synth called Dune. |
