We've released new Mac OS X updates of our audio effects plug-ins, SFX Machine RT, SFX Machine Pro and Backwards Machine.
The new updates allow the software to work with Pro Tools using the FXpansion VST to RTAS Adapter (available from fxpansion.com). Specifically, we fixed a bug which prevented our plug-ins from working with the FXpansion Adapter on Intel Macs. SFX Machine Pro is an advanced multi-effects plug-in with over 300 presets. It has won Editor's Choice awards from Electronic Musician and Mac Life magazines. SFX Machine RT is a streamlined, low-cost member of the SFX Machine family. Backwards Machine lets you reverse continuous audio in real time. Price and availability: SFX Machine Pro 1.1.2: US $149.99. SFX Machine RT 1.0.9: US $75.00. Backwards Machine 1.0.4: US $35.00. All programs available now via http://www.sfxmachine.com . System Requirements: SFX Machine Pro, SFX Machine RT and Backwards Machine are available for Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later (Universal Binary) or Windows 2000/XP/Vista. They require a 1 GHz or faster processor and a VST 2.x or Audio Unit compatible host. Demos are available from http://www.sfxmachine.com/downloads.html . |

For anyone who was having trouble getting Pro Tools 10 to recognize SFX Machine Pro RTAS for Windows, we've released a new installer that fixes the problem:

Actually, there is news. We have an initial test build for the Windows version of SFX Machine Pro! It occurs to me that I need to get a 64-bit machine to test it... The Mac is a tougher problem. We have an initial build with 64-bit GUI code (using JUCE), but hooking the GUI up to the rest of the code may be trivial, difficult, or nightmarish - not sure yet. Thanks for asking. I'll keep you guys posted. |

Nice to know!
As I'm on the Mac side of the force, I hope that building the bindings from UI to the fx code is trivial. Thanks for the update. |

Previous I was ruling this out entirely, but now I'm seriously thinking about it. Have to see how the Windows x64 SFX Machine Pro rollout goes and do the math... |

Great! I'm looking forward to the Mac 64-bit updates, especially for SFX Machine Pro.
BTW, Earl, I remember you said you would pay someone to work on these updates. Will you finally do it yourself? |

BTW, Earl, I remember you said you would pay someone to work on these updates. Will you finally do it yourself? I hired someone to do the Windows update, and I'm very pleased with the result. Someone else is working on the Mac version - much more difficult project. I just joined a startup, so I don't have time to do it myself. |
