no I-Lock needed for SSD4.
I'd like to know what the upgrade path is from SSD4 essential to EX.
Thanks.

Well, I'll give you a spoiler alert:

We're gonna have an Essential to EX upgrade where we use the $20 you spent on Essential as a voucher so you get $20 OFF EX. EX has 25 more kits... It's quite a large variety of drum sounds. You can do a lot of work with it. It even has my favorite Dance Kit. Also has the Old Zep kits which are not only fun to use in production, but a BLAST to play on edrums!

Having said that, during the holiday season, we may even have better upgrade deals!

Here is a great demo that Reaper forum member Stu made with the ESSENTIAL kit "Natural Rock":

If you buy BFD Eco this month for $49 it includes a free copy of our Rock Legends kit which normally retails for $59.99

You can also upgrade from BFD Eco to BFD2 for around $99

So when can we get the upgrade, and can it be boxed? Thanks, really enjoying Essentials!

Hi, we're already working on cool upgrade options, and yes boxed versions will be available! Smile More news soon. You guys digging ESSENTIAL? I'm using the Roomy Rock kit right now on one of my new songs.

I compressed the room mics, multed the kick and snare and used a fast compressor (to increase the body) then mixed the mults back in subtly, then I sent all the drums to a buss, compressed with slow attack medium release, then added some overall eq (little top, mids, took out some low mids, added some deep lows).

I'll post it soon! Tutorials coming as well Smile

Cheers,
Steven
