I like being able to dissect music that I listen to, and there are some elements of electronic textures I just haven't quite wrapped my head around.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aapBZBZNkp0&list=PLE196726F02 565118&index=2&feature=plcp In this trailer, right at 1:00 a big musical phrase starts. Obviously the strings carry the melody, but the sounds in the background are what I'm trying to figure out. Mostly in the high frequencies, there are those rhythmic clicky and noisey sounds that sit behind the strings. It's a lot more prominent when the phrase restates itself at 1:17. I've tried various saws with high pass filters and gotten semi-close. But it has a certain digital quality that I am having a hard time describing. I'm guessing it's SOME kind of waveform with maybe a band pass filter that gets manipulated as clicks along, but I'm not sure what exact sound to apply those effects to. I usually like figuring things out myself, but I feel pretty stumped here. If someone could at least get me started in the right direction, I would be very grateful! |
