Yes it is on special, it will go up to its normal price of 30 credits when the promotion is over (August 22nd). http://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/?item_id=1385 ---- http://www.ikmultimedia.com - IK Forum Congratulations on being champion of the 1/10th of 1/10th of 1% |

Another related question: the Jet City JCA100H is 15 credits and is listed in the Metal Gear discount list. But the Jet City JCA20H is listed at 20 credits and isn't on the Metal Gear list. Is it on special too? Will it cost 40 credits after the 22nd of August? Thanks. |

I can't remember what I paid for mine. I like the versatility of the 20 vs 100.
I'm using the 20 with recabinet most of the time lately. I like the anger, I like the hiwatt, but I just feel I can cover more bases with the JC20. Goes from screaming to cleanish and it's "big". Something about it just carries more weight. Impossible to explain over the net..... |

The Jet City JCA100H is a dual channel lead amp normally priced at 30 Gear Credits, but is on sale at half price as part of the metal gear promo.
The Jet City JCA20H is a low-watt boutique amp, and is not part of the metal gear promo. It is a single channel amp, so it is priced at 20 Gear Credits. |

I have to agree that there's something special about the JC20H that makes it stand out from the the other two; a nice scooped fatness in the low end and IMO better singing highs. It sounds more open and has a very sweet distortion. Thanks for the shop info, Brian. |

It does, though that's also what makes it so hard to decide which to use! Lol, comparing the distortions of different amps is where I spend most of my time it seems like! |

I used to do that. Now, most of the time I take the preset of the last known decent tone and just play with it.
And I still suck at guitar |

I blame this thread, but I went ahead and finished out my AT:Custom Shop collection. The Jet City 100W'er and the Soldano can be made to sound pretty much dead on,through the same cab emulation. I don't experience peak clipping with the Soldano, either, for what it's worth (if you know something I don't, by all means, share, but it seems just like any other amp in 64-bit AT3 3 point, uh, 3.8, I think - the current one, that introduced AT:Slash). It will get loud enough to clip if you let it, but so will any of the amps depending on gain staging, really, that's what the per-module volume knob is for So, I've got it all now. Step two to ruling the world, begin. ---- My Guitar Software Review Blog - IT LIVES AGAIN! I work for Wampler Pedals. We make stuff for musicians. It's awesome. @soldano: I guess it's harder to explain over teh interwebz, but the output clips MUCH easier on the soldano than others. This is both on the AT output gain AND the host output gain (or just the AT output if it's standalone) |

This is both on the AT output gain AND the host output gain (or just the AT output if it's standalone) I should test the standalone but I don't have it installed, in my DAW (REAPER 4.whatever'scurrent x64) and using Amplitube 3.whatever'scurrent x64 it honestly doesn't behave oddly for me on its knobs or in the module's volume control. I don't know what to say, I've tried it against old amps and new amps and CS amps and it's ~more or less the same as any similarly high wattage head with a lot of pre-gain. :-/ ---- My Guitar Software Review Blog - IT LIVES AGAIN! I'm testing AT metal now.It took about an hour to go through the five pages of gear and click the try button, for each piece of gear I'm also try the orange cabs and some mics.I called up the metal presets, then I inserted the orange and fender vibraverb cabs.then changed mics and moved them around. It was about, an 8 hour session.
Sorry agreed! Amplitube 3 was used for distortion on this track. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtLs7IsqNfw |
