Hi, I was wondering how to make a lead sound that sounds like the one in this track? The supersaw-like synth at 1.00.
I know there are a lot of supersaw presets in sylenth, but they all sound very flat compared to the one in this track. Does anyone know how to process the synth to make it sound bigger and deeper? http://soundcloud.com/dada-life/kaskade-llove-remix-live-at- coachella |

Nothing special, typical saw stabs.
If syleth's presets sounds "flat" then try to play with envelopes. Set them as tight as possible (no release, small sustain). If no luck then try another synth, I think almost all major vst's can pull that sound easily. If you are more intrested in mixing and processing, then try compresson. Set attack of the compressor so that it just misses transients and release time so that compressor recovers before next transient, 3-6 db of GR and you done. For percussive type of sound same effect can be achieved with EQ, huge boost at at attack stage of sound and narrow boost at lowest register (For fuller sound) Also check you reverb, set it to as short as possible and make shure that reverb time match your BPM, try to play with predelay time. Hope that helps. |
