Hi atom,
File -> Skin is used to change the GUI. There should be three choices: Factory - the default Nightshade Biolabs The first 2 are similar, the 3rd is quite different. Which one you choose will be the new default for each instance of Alchemy. Close and re-open the GUI for the change to take effect. The "change data folder" option is only required if you want to move the data files to a different location. However, there is a bug in 1.25 that prevents this from working properly so don't use it. We have fixed this for 1.50. Let me know if you have any questions. Peace, Andy. |

The 'biolabs' skin is an alternative GUI. It used to be available only with the biolabs: Alchemy Labs sound library, but we decided to include it with Alchemy + Player v1.25.
Quote: the volume level does not corespond with the volume in the host machine (sibelius)
Not sure what you mean here. Changing the levels in the Sibelius mixer is separate from changing the volume using the controls on the Alchemy or Player GUI. Quote: are the LFO/AHDSR / MSG / SEQUENCER/NOTE PROPERTY / PERFORM usable with the simple version
These options won't really do anything in the Player version. It's kind of a bug - these menus should only be visible in the full version. We might fix this for the next update if there is time. Peace, Andy. |

thanks andy
1 / may i switch to biolabs and then come back to default ? 2/ add modulations > note property > velocity work with sibelius 7 this is why i was asking for the other options . 3/ sibelius mix level could act on the player volume [ not vice versa ] 2 finger ipad + click the volume button midi learn click click a slider level in the sibleius mixer then the mixer slider control the volume button on the player . 4 / if you can please modify the manual too its extremly painfull to read the advanced manual for a simple machine , a lot of time is lost questionning onself ! for wrong manipulations , of defective machine or asking questions via e mail ! regards |

GUI = Graphical User Interface
or Skin (the "skin" of the plugin). Cool? |

Yes that is how it is designed to work. The GUI / skin can be changed at any time. Quote: 2/ add modulations > note property > velocity
OK, I see what you mean. Adding "velocity" to modulate the master volume control will work because it's not really necessary to "edit" the velocity, it's determined from the incoming note. The other modulation sources such as LFO or AHDSR cannot be edited using the Alchemy Player GUI. So while these can be selected, it won't be useful. These should probably be removed from the interface - I will create a case for that. Quote: 3/ sibelius mix level could act on the player volume [ not vice versa ]
Yes, that's how all hosts work. In Sibelius you are controlling the level of the channel in the overall mix including any effects on that channel. With the Alchemy Player volume control you are controlling the output from Alchemy Player only. Quote: 4 / if you can please modify the manual too
We will have a manual dedicated to Alchemy Player when v1.50 is released. Peace, Andy. |
