Did anyone buy the Wusik Station v6 $20 offer?

I thought at that price and with a 15 gb library that it was a no brainier deal. I like the effects and tools you get with it and being able to record into it and create .sfz files is a bonus. I can create .sfz in Wusic Station and use them in Alchemy and Synthmaster, and probably a few other synths and samplers that I own.

I also noticed on the Wusic site that there is a v7 upgrade, is this worth getting?

I bought it (V6)@ $20 or was it $25? but not this sale the one after Christmas or something like that....
I have hardly used it and not sure if I'll use it, I don't like the way it installs, it is a bit confusing and have to do few things manually etc and I am not sure if I like the way the browser works and although I do like few of the sounds there's many that I don't... perhaps they are good for others as i mainly do trance etc... and now that i got Nexus and other synths that costed ~ 10 times more (give and take) I don't really need it.
In fact maybe I'll check the license if it can be transferred... maybe i'll sell it or give to someone who wants to use it.

I really like Wusik, it's the best rompler I've come across so far.

The only downside is that the tweaking isn't very responsive, hit the cutoff or resonance, and not much happens....

Now that Wusik 7 comes with additional content, I think it is a wise investment if you already feel you have exhausted the content in W6.

You might be interested in checking out the current Nucleus Soundlab sale as well, some nice Wusik related stuff can be had there for little money.

I bought the Ravenator sets a while ago, came with V5 of Wusik which was great at the time, V6 I had when I wrote for WSM and that was OK a big improvement on V5, Kinda wish I still had it to run the 64bit V7 for Ravenator now, but yeah a good hybrid imo. It's not just a ROMpler btw.

But the patches included are nevertheless top of the line, and they are easy to stack

I have owned and used Wusik since like version 2. It has been and is one of my goto VSTs. the sound library is vast and varied and has a little something for everything in it.

I never found them that bad tbh, when you say not responsive, you mean sluggish ? As in GUI ?

How are the sounds included in the full version? I was impressed with many aspects of the UI but not impressed with the included demo sounds.

No, nothing really happens with the sound when I tweak the knobs.

It's about 16GB the full version is. As I remember the demo version is about 1GB. So in the full version you get 15 times as much content as in the demo version.

Does v7 have different content than v6?

Yeah, now the V7 features a good deal of extra GB's of content, that you wont find in the V6 version.

I bought it at less of a discount a few years ago, and really never used it. I don't have any specific complaints, it just didn't grab me. When I upgraded to a new computer I didn't even install it.

But I'm not much of a ROMpler user, and it really does feel like a ROMpler more than anything.

As far as I know, and I might be wrong, but I believe that the v7 upgrade is
just 64-bit compatibility. This is not to be sniffed at. That would have been a lot of work for WilliamK to port it across.

But I use Wusikstation 32-bit on a 64-bit system and it works just fine.


I don't believe there are any extra bells and whistles.
But respect to WilliamK for getting it to work on the new system.


I have had run-ins with WilliamK about this before. But it was all sorted out amicably.

I don't believe you can get a better workstation synth with drums, loops, fx,
vox, skins...

I would say go for it.

Sometimes the prices change, but man, for the money, what else are you going to get that gives you a 16Gb library done by the top sound designers in the business?


I don't work for Wusik. I know that he can get a bit carried away sometimes,
and in fact he promised stuff that he did not come up with.

But I will say this, I believe him to be an honourable man. He works like a horse day and night on his project.

Disclaimer: He provided a full version of Wusikstation v6 for the winner of the XT2 competition. That is with the full library. He has to eat that bandwidth.

Buy it or don't buy it. It makes no difference to me.
If I may be so rude: WilliamK is sometimes a little erratic. But name me another developer that gives you such a high quality synth with multiple forms of synthesis, Groove boxes, Beautiful skins by some of the major skin developers. Grymmjack, Limeflavour, ArtVera?

Apparently Asseca, Teksonik and DarkStar have also done skins for this.
I even done one myself for the Westgate Sounds Anomaly series, but it was based on Grymmjack's themes I believe. I give credit.

Anyway.

Do you really need 64-bit. I bet you don't. No offense.

But as you say, the .sfz import/export thing is a boon.

There is nothing that comes close to this VST for it's versatility.

Grab the deal. WilliamK will sometimes take a day or two to get back to you because he is working on his project day and night.

That is a lot of sounds in a very flexible VST that could be all you wish for.
