my dad use to say to me all the time, "dont wish your life away" Wink

meanwhile, I'm not right today (really lately)...I have had this strange feeling in my throat/stomach that has been coming and going over the last couple of months. It's like food is caught in my throat, not like a chest cold and it is accompanied by an odd taste again not like the taste you get with a chest cold. It doesn't hurt when I cough but sometimes instead of a "lump like feeling" it's a pain I feel. Today on top of that my back and leg muscles are aching, I rarely have such pains and never have had back issues. I'm gonna take it easy today but I think I nice long but slow walk could help me feel more like me Shrug

At least you have hair. At 47, I'm losing my rapidly and it's mostly on one side. Getting old is a challenge. Please enjoy being young Smile

So Scott Brown is one of our Senators (this is NOT a political post), I'm watching TV and an ad for him comes on and they show him at basic training in a unit photograph (just like they took of us). I say "wow that looks familiar" and I pause the tv (the Drill SGT looked like mine). I look and see it says B13, Fort Dix NJ June 1980...I was in B13, Fort Dix NJ starting in August 1978. Shit!

well here's a kicker, when I went to Fort Dix they pulled me out before I started and gave me a whole bunch of tests for three days. I wasn't alone but at the end of the three days there were only three of us left.

Those tests were to determine whether I should stay enlisted or go to FT Monmoth (sp?) NJ for one year OCS (officer candidate school) then 4 years at West Point.

I passed the tests with flying colors but when they asked me to sign on the dotted line I didn't...It makes one think, but not for long...I'm not disappointed with THAT decision in my career..West Point and Hink are not a match.
