strange, sometimes something like that happens when i check my recording from my vinyls which im doint lately, and it sounds weird, only the right side.
my needle is a good one for recording cost around 100 bucks, could it be that this one is not right anymore or something else?

the same sound occurs on some other vinyls too and that cant be right cause each vinyl can have the same issue Wink.

any ideas?

I'm not trying to sound like an ass, please take no offense...have you cleaned your needle? It does sound like a needle issue to me, however the wires to the cartridge are small and I have seen them get broken but not any damage that is visible to the naked eye so you might want to check that too. While you're at the wires make sure the ground is good, with both it is possible to have some strands broken and causing an issue which might not completely kill the signal but weaken it.

Also check your tracking pressure on your tone arm, too light and one side might start to sound bad. (anti-skate if you have it too)

One other thing turntables use pre-amps in your system as you know, a quick reversing of the leads should test that in case something happened there Shrug

You didn't hear it during playback, but it was in the recording.. leads me to believe the problem lies in your connections, but i dont know what type of setup you're using. Were you monitoring through the player or the recorder? The sound reminds me of a flakey quarter inch stereo jack. I think if you post your setup, you'll have a better chance of someone helping you get it resolved. Good luck.

i connected the turntable on the preamp and grounded it on the pc case, im listening through my monitors.
