The Ring finally got released on bluray. It's still very good, very freaky and Naomi Watts (actually everyone)is very good. I just find it sad that someone as
brilliant as Verbinski will be doing Pirates of the Caribbean movies the rest of his life... |

Just saw "Six Feet Under", season 4 - "Grinding the Corn". Ah! Got really nervous with the third season, was afraid the series wouldn't get any better than that afterwards but my oh my how good it can be to get proven wrong sometimes. ---- "If I were Rat Man, You could be my sidekick; Mouse Boy" |

Oh, you've so much more to see... Quote: Definetaly still one of my absolute alltime favourite series.
Mine too. Frustrated that I've never really been able to turn anyone on to it. I guess the structure sounds pretty 'soap opera' if you describe it but just so much depth, has the subject of examining life through death ever been explored so thoroughly? And career best performances from everyone involved (yeah, better than Dexter I watched Torchwood: Miracle Day recently, just kept thinking "it's clare fisher!" every time Lauren Ambrose was onscreen. Offcourse I will follow it through to the end! And yeah, GaryG, I think people almost have to discover this series for themselves to be taken in - at least I know I really struggle if I ever should try to explain excactly why I find it so good to someone who hasn't seen it. Also, I'm sure different people will get different things out of it, and I'm certainly aware of not nescesarilly taking it all in all the time (but that's part of the beauty, making it still work - and good reason to watch it all again sometime)... Sorry if I'm close to rambling, getting late and I really should get of the QWERTY now... ---- "If I were Rat Man, You could be my sidekick; Mouse Boy" |

You with SG and me with Andromeda The world needs more space sci-fi TV series. BSG ruined that. Not that I didn't like it, but that it's edgy "drama" is FAR more interesting to people now than "good guy bad guy" shows. (as evidenced by popular tv by and large) I keep saying that when I run out of shows, I'll do netflix/amazon (free trails to start of course) and Andromeda would be on my list. Scifi.....(which is what I was called back then) picked that show up thought and ruined it. That was really bizarre. |
