Hi, this is a difficult one to describe so please bare with me:
I have alchemy running on a project I have been working on for a few weeks. Just yesterday I noticed the sound being played from Alchemy was 'odd'. It takes a bit to explain: the sound is Cosmic Vox Morph from the Dream Voices Pads set and was a lovely female type choir but now it seems to have a strong amplitude variation, like an LFO on the amplitude envelope so the sound 'wobbles'. It also seems to drift in and out of pitch. To start with I thought I must have messed up a a parameter or got some dodgy automation data in somewhere but I reloaded the sound and have checked there is no automation data being sent to Alchemy. I have played around with all the parameters with no luck including switching all LFOS on and off etc. Switching from granular to sampler seems to lessen the vibrato but of course the sound is now not what it was. I also have made sure there is nothing in the signal path that could be causing the issue. p.s. just tested with other sounds and they all seem to suffer this issue! As if there is an amplitude LFO active somewhere. any help would be appreciated Keith |

Still no luck fixing this although previous projects that use Alchemy seem ok. I also reinstalled it but no luck so I am stumped |

Hi Keith,
I'm not sure what would be causing this - bit strange that it's started happening with this specific project, but not others. Which version of Cubase are you using? Let me know and I'll check it out. As for the crash - it's quite likely those types of problems will be fixed with the 1.50 update. During testing the new browser has changed the order in which presets are typically loaded, which has highlighted some long standing but difficult to reproduce bugs. The end results - aside from the delay to releasing the update - is better stability. Peace, Andy. |

It would probably be better if you could:
- render or record an example of the problem audio - Save As the affected preset as a new .acp file - recreate this problem in a project containing only a single instance of Alchemy Zip these together and send to alchemy-beta [at] camelaudio [dot] com. That way I can check the files directly. Peace, Andy. |

Hi Andy, thanks for the response. I am using the latest Cubase 6.53. I will look to see if I can create a test project as you describe but it will have to be later today. If 1.5 is coming out very soon then that would be ideal |

Sorry I am not going to be able to do this this week as I am away for a week now but when I get back I will investigate it further |

Hi, just to update this: the new 1.50 RC version appears to have fixed this problem. So I am happy |
