I am after the distorted tom sound from this track, I guess it's something basic. The tom starts playing at about 0:15, you can hear is nearly solo at 0:42. Please note: Sampling is not an option.

I am on Ableton Live and I have already tried many combinations of overdrive and bit crushing, adding noise and so on, but still I was unable to produce a tom like that. If someone could give me some hints I would greatly appreciated it!
