I agree, that it's nice. It's not the meandering that I was criticizing per se, so much as I felt that it needed to somehow avoid sounding like the meandering was constructed. In any case, I like it and if you changed nothing I would still like it. My comments were meant as constructive thought into how "I" think that it could be even better. My only qualification is that I listen to this type of music a lot. So that by itself, means very little, perhaps nothing at all. BTW: If you changed anything since my last comment, I haven't listened yet and I'm not able to ATM. |

Why are you apologizing? You don't owe anyone any apology, I'm glad that you're feeling better. Welcome back to your own thread Quote: I agree that it can be a bit meandering with nowhere to go. I'll come back to this and perhaps add something more to make it a little more interesting. At the same time, though, I want to keep the ambient feel to it, so there won't be much added. Indeed. Sometimes taking away, for just a short time, is a good substitute for adding. Or shifting slightly in time, or pitch. One note changed, sometimes just once, can have a dramatic impact. |

Sounds very peaceful and I can understand how you would drift while playing it. However, the slightly edgy/high frequency piercing parts give it an edge that makes it seem as though everything is not calm, there is something ominous about to happen. This creeps up on you just as you are drifting into it. Well done! |

I hadn't thought of it like that. I'll have to listen again to hear the ominous parts. Thanks for listening and commenting! ---- "Be excellent to each other." Dax IX (Music) | Ambient Online Cubase 7, A Few VSTi, Win8 Pro 64, AMD FX-6100, 32GB RAM, 3.25TB total HDD, SSD |

Nice track...enjoyed that...thanks for sharing. If it were my track...and it isn't... I would have run it through a low pass filter using a long, smooth cut envelope. I thought everything from about 5khz on up could have been more delicate and in the back. (Maybe after softening it up some, add just the 5khz and up to a mostly wet reverb.) EDIT: a shelving type filter would most likely do it more evenly. Just a thought... ---- "For many individuals with mental illness, creativity is a valued and central part of their identity." |

I did filter out a lot of the harsher highs. I'm actually quite happy with it now, other than maybe adding another part later in the piece, though more verb might help a little, too.
