Based on the last MUX "experiments" (especially the Novachord, see above...) i have now created a synth that uses a bank of 8 Bandpass filters with fixed Cutoff frequencies and a medium amount of Resonace. The frequencies are 300 Hz, 5200 Hz, 1000 Hz, 1500 Hz, 2200 Hz, 2500 Hz, 3000 Hz and 3500 Hz. Those are related to some Vowel formants so the result could be called a "Vowel" or "Formant" filter.

The MUX preset could be downloaded here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/53230726/ForMUX%2001.Mux Have fun, ingo |

Thanks Ingo! I'm very busy these days, but I will surely try and have fun with this preset as soon as I can ---- RIP Reason Lahalla |

Don't miss the others at the page before... BTW the waveform was created with DNR Wave Designer. Ingo |

Ingo, i loaded the mux of yours (multisampled virus), saved the project in maschine and then loaded the project - it was more or less instant. Maybe it's live related. I'd test it in more hosts but im having a fever and brain is not in the mood Buddha.. if you want excitment you cant go wrong with mux. I've had that feeling several times a day ever since i got it. This morning's early project was to create a kick drum mux module by using Charlatan synth. Maybe im just weird, but i love trying to find out what ranges sounds good etc. It's like all synths and effects i've had from before are now spices i get to use as a sonic chef *forgot to hit submit* Happens all the time when i play with mux ... i "juuust" have to try this or that and forget whatever i was doing... Once the kick was done i decided to make a hihat mux with charlatan ... and im mighty pleased! At about this time i have to stop though as the "amount of ideas"/"possible time to do them" gives an error. Well, my body can't handle it anyway ---- Mulab-MUX-Diversion-TX16Wx-SKNOTE-Charlatan-Valhalla-GordonSmith-YamahaTHR10-Trackspacer-TheDrop/Glue-Drumaxx-VOS-DC8C [i5 2500K @ 4,3GHz] [8Gb DDR3] [200Gb+ SSD][M-Audio Delta 24/96 PCI] |

Did you use the MUX with the embedded samples (was around 50 MB big) or the updated version with the separate samples download which i uploaded yesterday? With the new version i also got no problems so far. The advantage of the new version is that the mux files itself are very small. With the old one for only different 20 presets based on it you would have used around 1 GB of disk space. Ingo |

It was the 50Mb version
But i think using separate wav files is better, as long as it's easy to load the presets. ---- Mulab-MUX-Diversion-TX16Wx-SKNOTE-Charlatan-Valhalla-GordonSmith-YamahaTHR10-Trackspacer-TheDrop/Glue-Drumaxx-VOS-DC8C [i5 2500K @ 4,3GHz] [8Gb DDR3] [200Gb+ SSD][M-Audio Delta 24/96 PCI] |

BTW did you check the new MUX at the beginning of this page? Next try will be the same with the Virus sample or one of the other samples and waveforms i got including some Vox like waveforms created with DNR Wave Designer.... Ingo |

Ingo I was confused for a while there! Human empathizing with a virtual software compressor that doesn't even exist. I wish there was a way to load another set of samples from the top level of mux. Or maybe just change that module so i could get the initial novachord (which i can by rightclick replace etc) but it would be cool to do it with the UI directly. Let's hope Master Mu listens! ---- Mulab-MUX-Diversion-TX16Wx-SKNOTE-Charlatan-Valhalla-GordonSmith-YamahaTHR10-Trackspacer-TheDrop/Glue-Drumaxx-VOS-DC8C [i5 2500K @ 4,3GHz] [8Gb DDR3] [200Gb+ SSD][M-Audio Delta 24/96 PCI] |

As i respect your work im respectfully going to say that i think the vibrato amount could be reduced quite a bit as it's way beyond normal usable range. I rather have some precision! The info you added on that post on top of page with the wowel frequencies was very interesting, didn't know that! ---- Mulab-MUX-Diversion-TX16Wx-SKNOTE-Charlatan-Valhalla-GordonSmith-YamahaTHR10-Trackspacer-TheDrop/Glue-Drumaxx-VOS-DC8C [i5 2500K @ 4,3GHz] [8Gb DDR3] [200Gb+ SSD][M-Audio Delta 24/96 PCI] |

Where has Master Mu gone by the way....? Just wanted share to you guys what i've been up to with mux lately. 'tldr' scroll down (seriously, don't read I wanted: Analogue sounding selfmade drums. Problem: Having several synths running at the same time for drums cost CPU - sampling was needed. New Problem: Very few samplers offers round robin/random (i sampled each drumhit eight times and yes, you can hear the difference of the hits .. and it sounds GREAT!) Solution: I had forgotten but learned, thanks to kvrians, that Poise offers this sampling playback technique. New problem again: Browsing samples in maschine is easy .. and i don't want to loose this. And i certainly dont want to sit and save each poise samplecell as a separate instrument in Maschine. 'tldr' scroll here What i did was to have 10 cells with samples in Poise(each with 8 played in random order). I added piz's midiTranspose and set it to 0-9 and dragged the controller to meta parameter and set it to 50-100% (to avoid negative transpose as there's no cells lower than C3). Now, each 10% i turn i get a new drum sound! I had made a mux with three of these poises(x10x8) where each had it's transpose and a gain which let me mix three of them at the same time. It's not like im running out of ram any day soon .. so why not Though it must be said, when you have these slightly out of control samples, having more than one playing at the time sounds like you're beatmixing vinyl.. For some reason Poise seem to forget where some samples are ... but the filepath is correct in the kit file ....... been on this since yesterday and just when i think i've found a solution ......... I used synths like diva, UNO-LX and charlatan to create the drums. Naturally i "muxed" myself some drum modules. UNO-LX is a fantastic for kicks!! But you have to use two if you want a nice attack as well as rumble since it only has one adsr (using [gate] i heard a snap upon note release so i used the adsr instead). I think the trick is the envelope. ---- Mulab-MUX-Diversion-TX16Wx-SKNOTE-Charlatan-Valhalla-GordonSmith-YamahaTHR10-Trackspacer-TheDrop/Glue-Drumaxx-VOS-DC8C [i5 2500K @ 4,3GHz] [8Gb DDR3] [200Gb+ SSD][M-Audio Delta 24/96 PCI] |

Anyone remember if, and if so, how you could force polysynth into being mono? I guess i could copy all out in a non polysynth area .. but meh ---- Mulab-MUX-Diversion-TX16Wx-SKNOTE-Charlatan-Valhalla-GordonSmith-YamahaTHR10-Trackspacer-TheDrop/Glue-Drumaxx-VOS-DC8C [i5 2500K @ 4,3GHz] [8Gb DDR3] [200Gb+ SSD][M-Audio Delta 24/96 PCI] |
