Eli's THE MAN. I wish more than a few tutorial dudes would learn from his example. Especially the ones with no voice-over at all.

Anyone know

-- when it goes on sale for those who missed the pre-sale?
-- the pricing of the different versions?
-- the differences between the versions? (I only saw an extremely vague matrix saying that the various versions are "Good", "Better" and "Best" for certain things)

I've all the VSTis and VSTfx plugs I need; I just want something easy to use and stable

The lack of excitement or posts here is rather telling.....
I wonder how long Cakewalk will last....
Its a shame because Sonar X is finally turning into a useful DAW

Just face it, you have no idea how to use the software youve just bought

Well, it's released now only for the pre-order buyers.

It hasn't been given a full release yet, so give it some time. The Cakewalk forum has some positive posts so far. In fact, there are no links to order online right now. It seems that they're trying to take care of pre-orders first, which is a pretty nice thing to do. It gives them faster and more dependable downloads.

I too am interested with how people are doing with X2, I hope theres not as many problems this go around, X1's release and Hotfixes were a disaster and you would think Cakewalk would have learned a lesson from it. I like the silverlight UI, hopefully they allow more customizing of colors without 3rd party workarounds. I'm waiting to hear from you new X2 adopters about whether this release is gonna be more smooth than the last and I'm still happy with 8.5.3 but theres always a possibility of moving up.

I just browsed the Cakewalk forum. Seems to be a split between people experiencing lots of crashes; experiencing some, but blaming themselves or saying it's not a big deal; and experincing few or none.

Am glad I didn't pre-order. I think I'll watch from the sidelines for a few months.
