Very good to hear... I love both MC packs (1 and 2). I'm definitely looking forward to adding another.

This is wicked!! Is there a list of the sound sources that comes with the sample pack? I sample from the prelinger archive too and I would like to avoid sampling the same sounds you already provide in your packs.

It will not be ready for the 15th but I'm hoping to have it done for the 19th. I currently have close to 1,000 samples ready.

Congrats on the release! I'll be picking this up shortly (but have some reorganizing of samples to do first).
By the way, I finally picked up the Prepared Rhodes a short while ago. I wish I had got it when you released it.
***EDIT***
Bought them. A lovely collection!

I am glad that you're enjoying the MC 03 pack and the Prepared Rhodes too. Even if the Prepared Rhodes has been around for a few years, it's the 2nd sample set I released, it's still quirky, unique and useful.
And aonther screenshot of one of the movies.

The question is: Can you really guarantee that no other sample library producer uses the same samples from the Prelinger Archives? I use them, too, (as a musician), and I know many other archives, so (personally) I wouldn't buy a sample library with public domain movie samples, except they claim (and prove) to have samples from forgotten recordings on the attics or from licensed commercial movies...SampleScience wrote:This is wicked!! But there is nothing to say against this sample pack. It's easier to use a sample pack than to sample everything yourself, so this sample pack can save much work...

Hi Tricky-Loops, thanks for your post.Tricky-Loops wrote:The question is: Can you really guarantee that no other sample library producer uses the same samples from the Prelinger Archives? There's no way I can prove that no other sample library producer uses the same source movies, but I can tell you that SampleScience didn't as we compared lists.
But it is also very unlikely that sample library X from sample producer Y will have used all the same source movies that I have used in my Memory Collection packs. And it's very very unlikely that even if one did, he/she would have chosen the same bits to sample and edited them the same way I did.
Collections like these are not only about the source material but also about the personal choices, selection of bits to sample, edits and the work of the sample producer. That's why even if more than 1 producer would use the same source movie, you would very probably NOT end up with exactly the same samples edited in the same way.
For instance, I went through every full movie, made a first selection of interesting samples, then further refined my selection during the edit process.
Exactly, and sampling bits that can be useful and fun from a movie is indeed a lot of work. And at the price I sell my Memory Collections, each sample costs less than 1 cent and the users have a selection of ready to use samples.Tricky-Loops wrote: But there is nothing to say against this sample pack. I've already told them, that I'm a buyer with each new release. This would be a major amount of work to build this. Every sample is clearly organized and labeled. I'm assuming there's additional processing to clean these up too, so not having to do that myself and instead simply search for the phrase I want is just perfect for me. And IMO pricing is beyond fair.Tricky-Loops wrote:But there is nothing to say against this sample pack. Anyway, just my 2 cents.

You'll have to trust me that I remember when they were first released. I didn't get around to purchasing back then, and for my last project I wish I had it. Quirky and unique is probably right on the money.zvon wrote:Thanks again for your support and comments!elxsound wrote:Congrats on the release! Still, I wish I got it back then... I would have put it to use many times over by now, but as you must know there's just so much content out there, it's hard to judge what you will use or not use. Well, better late than never!
