Hey guys,

I have on desktop with windows 7 64 for music i7 and i3 laptop for music also. Both are optimised. I followed many articles for optimising audio for windows 7. If I wanna install windows 8, how do I do that if my current pc and laptop are optimised from windows 7. Should I uninstall all my software on my win 7 desktop music related? Thanks!

I believe you download it and burn it to a CD - then you can boot from CD. I would assume it's similar to previous versions of Windows in that you can format existing partitions during the early part of the install process. Do that and you will be on your way to a fresh install.

That's correct, in fact you are given more options than ever now. However, I found that when I installed Windows 8 Pro 64 to a hard drive with Windows XP 32 on it, it retained some of the files on the disk. To avoid this, you can first format or re-partition the disk as you install Windows. After clicking "install now" you will be given additional choices. It also has new choices allowing you to burn Win 8 to a DVD, boot from other OSs, etc.

If you can, install to a different hard disk and keep Win7 also for now.

W8 installs the best from a usb drive. Download Windows7-USB-DVD-Tool from MS site. Put W8 installation files into a folder and the tool will do the job for you. Installing from DVD might be tricky according to several reports on the web and my personal experience. W8 has problems with a DVD driver or some drives (can't recall). Anyway USB installation is quick and easy.
