I think it's too early to come to any definitive conclusions regarding performance.
Even that test in your link doesn't show 8 as always better than 7. Based on my own very short testing with only Renoise, it's pretty much exactly the same, but in 8 I've seen some weird CPU spikes when another program (Notepad) is in front of it. Some other tests (not strictly audio related) show 8 as slightly worse. 
(Also, if I may, I'd suggest a more descriptive thread title.) |

seen no improvements and i hate the whole metro thing..
