http://soundcloud.com/sampleconstruct/bowldrum-2vel-rr4-demo Now I'll make some soundscapes with some other Soundbowl-meets-Framedrum-samples... I'm copying a post from the other thread in the Market Place to also have that info included in this thread, it was the post before the one I quote above: ---- Spent all morning recording samples for the big framedrum patch which combines several articulations as I usually play it: 4 velocity layers and 8 alternations each (Round Robin) Right hand thumb centre Right hand fingers (2-4) between centre and frame Left hand frame - 3rd and 4th finger alternating for the lower 2 velocities, and both fingers for the 2 louder velocities ---- swishes right hand center - 2 velocity layers - 8 variations each (Round Robin) So that patch will contain 112 samples plus the muted articulation with 32 samples which I already sampled for another patch. Just have to edit/cut/filter/level all these single hits now. Then I took my tibetian soundbowl and muted the drum with that and played it with soft mallets, sounds like a great timpany sort of, I also made more textural stuff combing the bowl and the framedrum, I'm just cutting and processing these and might post a demo later today. |

Cheers, Frank Hey Frank, oh yeah, there is bass all over this library, as I keep most drum patches chromatically tuned you can transpose them until you subwoofer bleeds - my ADAM Sub 12 is having a blast In patches where there are dozens of sounds mapped over the entire keyboard I always include a Pitch Controller (apart from the Pitchbender) which can tune things way up and down so all frequency ranges can always be covered. And I've already made some dedicated bass patches using envelopes on the Alchemy Filters and ADSR to get that subby uuumpf sound. Also check the Chopstick Bass Demo. Apart from the processed electronic and resynthed sounds all the articulations I'm recording and the objects I'm treating the drum with make for a great variety of sounds and sound combinations, so I think this will make the best of the electronic and the acoustic sound world, a bit like in Warped Strings or Metallurgy, yet different. http://soundcloud.com/sampleconstruct/muted-framedrum-4vel-8 rr-demo http://soundcloud.com/sampleconstruct/chopsick-bass-9vel-rr3 -demo |

And here is a demo for the patch "Bowldrum Rattle 2Vel RR4" which is a nice percussion synth sort of:

So here is a fresh demo with some new patches, dark cinema music, the main drumsound is the thumb-centre articulation 4Vel/8RR which will be part of the big Framedrum patch incorporating 5 multisampled articulations as mentioned earlier in this thread:

And here is the big Framedrum patch, this is an untuned version where each articulation is playing the same pitch in the range of one octave on the keyboard, I mapped them as according to the hand positions on the drum: left hand (on the frame): C1-B1, right thumb articulation: C2-B2, right hand C3-B3, swishes: C4-C6 and the muted articulation is on the very bottom; C0-B0 Really an expressive patch and a lot of fun to play with. The Subbass drum in the demo uses the patch "4 Articulation layered" where you can crossfade between the different samples with the x/y-pad or play all 4 at once for massive sounds. Altogether 144 samples are used in that patch. Here is the impro jam, all Midi notes of course: http://soundcloud.com/sampleconstruct/framedrum-untuned-5-ar t-split |

It's a seperate, brandnew Bank, would be a bit too much for the subcription imo http://www.patchpool.de/alchemy_framedrum.html |

I took 4 samples from the Left Hand forte articulation, spectralized/stretched and tuned them in Metasynth, then processed them with Filters/Stereo Wideners and more FX resulting in this Pad/Drone Sound - morphing through the Alchemy Snaps in the demo here:

And today I sampled this:
Bouncing little rubberballs into the drum (I bought a bag containing 50), then turning the drum so they would roll at different speeds and densities. I started with one ball and in the end used 20 or so. Treating the results with M/S compression to manipulate the stereo field, using dynamic EQs to bring out the right and surpress the annoying frequencies. Some amazing sounds are coming out of this. I also spectralized some of the samples as you will hear towards the end of the demo: http://soundcloud.com/sampleconstruct/rubberball-mix-demo-fr amedrum |
