I know everyone is yapping about communities but I think it's a fantastic idea, better than circles for special interests - people opt in and you spend less time trying to sort people into circles.

Good idea indeed. :)
Thanks for the link.

We don't have a huge number of members yet - up to 93 now I think - but some interesting discussions.

Many of the popular G+ communities (programming, android, gaming, science, etc.) have a TON of members. This is really taking off, and will probably take a bite out of crappy old Facebook with its "pay money so your followers will see your posts" model.

Anyone reading the modular forum will probably also like the crazy noise makers group:

That's way beyond "kind of intrusive."

Thanks! I've been reading more of the manual, hoping to get some Reaktor, something made, this year.

I'm starting a collaborative building project here:

Not sure what we're making yet, come suggest something!

dayjob, when I installed the latest G+ iPad app, it asked me if I wanted to turn on instant upload, I said no, and I haven't been hassled by behind-my-back uploads. Maybe check out the newest version. I'm surprised it did that to you - Google is usually pretty good about asking permission for things like that.

Maybe it's because I've never used + but I'm pretty shocked by this - is this the default setting when you have your accounts linked?

These groups are also a pretty interesting idea, there are some great discussions on the Reaktor page!

not the default which is why it was a surprise. i'd had google+ for a long time and would check it on my phone now and then and post things etc.. then one day i checked on my phone and was notified that my photos had been accessed and shared to picasa which is google's picture thing. they were still 'private' but had been moved from my phone. i quickly fixed it and deleted my google+ account and deleted the app from my phone. i checked via my laptop and my photos were indeed on picasa so i had to delete them there as well.

not sure why it happend but when i deleted my google+ account i added a note in the provided field as to why i was deleting it.

i guess i can just create and account again if i want and not have the app on my phone then it won't take over and try to think for me.
