Well let's see. No more hot stuff at night. I'll bypass the details but when you have reflux bad every night for 3 nights it's time to get a clue Wink

I never eat at restaurants. Only when traveling (which it's been over two years since I've done that)

But today I had Mexican at this little place I used to live by on Fulton 20 years ago. Nostalgia only. It was Ok, but I won't be rushing back.

Chocolate-Almond Chess Pie. Barely cooled enough to be cuttable. Chess pies are a southern US tradition, like custard but with less egg.

CRUST: Mrs. Rowe ran a restaurant in Staunton, Virginia right up until she died. Now her family run it and an additional diner. I always use her pie crust recipe.

FILLING: Instead of one teaspoon of vanilla extract in the following recipe, substitute 1/2 vanilla and 1/2 almond; Amaretto would be even better but I don't know how much you'd need to use:

[edit] This is NOT "health food." Combine with exercise, eat if you need to gain body mass in a hurry, or both.

Been past many times, but I was always on business time and never had the opportunity to eat there. A shame, since I rarely get up to Staunton these days.

I feel your pain - I've been cooking chipotle chili but, while I love the flavor, it's not loving me back any more. Sad Sad

Getting old, I am. Sigh. Confused
