An experiment in cut mixing that produces a constantly shifting soundscape. Abstract, dislocated and heavily distorted.

I like it, it sound a bit like a drum set trying to turn itself inside out, wicked.

wow. this is a beautifully complex and challenging piece. an absolute joy to sink into :)

neil.

I'm not terribly sure (in fact I have no idea) how you did that, but it sounded very good. There are lots of great sound contrasts on here, but the whole thing is constantly shifting around to give different viewpoints. Nice vibes. Confusing and reassuring at the same time.

Good work :)

This is cool. I think I'll wrestle with it again tomorrow. Thanks, polyslax.

Good work, enjoyed.

I like the jazzy feeling, but after a while the fx takes over the song. I prefer the more natural jazz sound :)

Post

Thanks all very much!

I basically mixed the track 4 times, 1 straight and 3 running through some outboard fx. The final mix cuts at random through the 4 previous ones, creating either an interestingly disjointed soundscape or a total mess, depending on your perspective and tastes. :)

Matt, I think I'll go with the "interestingly disjointed soundscape" thing :)
It's unnerving and also very very interesting to listen to.
Amazingly creative use of different mixes :D

Well done once again

Ha. I was trying to find the right words to describe this track but this was just elegantly put.

A very interesting listen!
