Hi,
Just wondered if anyone been in a similar situation,
I have a problem opening one of my .als Ableton project files. I get this message:
An error occurred while reading "C:\Doccuments and Settings\………" Apparently, the document was created by a more recent, and incompatible, version of Live than this.
(Unknown base type id247)
I created the project using Live 5.2.2, the same one I am trying to open it with. I have tried opening two different backups of the same file but get the same message.
Any ideas what I might be able to do in order to open the project file?
I have tried opening the project after deleting the preference file and also removing the VST's from their folder but no luck.
I will be gutted if I can't get it to work. BTW I am using Windows XP.
Ableton .als file won't open :(

file might be corrupted, send it to Ableton support and they'll fix it for you if it is or at least tell you what problem you're having
they're usually pretty quick getting back at you with these problems, I used to get tons of corrupted projects due to memory crashes while saving

I contacetd Ableton Support now so I will wait back to see what they say. After reading your reply I am a bit more hopeful I can get it sorted.
