Maybe yes:

At amazona they mention it could be based on the engine used in the Kronos workstation. Ingo |

It's just a VA so perhaps not particularly exciting, although it does look like it has that valve warming circuit from that cool EP thing they made. So who knows.
Or it's not real and all made up. |

It's been marked as VA since the rumours started. It's not based on any Kronos engines, it seems, the structure is completely different (only 2 envelopes and 2 LFOs, pity), but it does seem to have a decent variety of modelled oscillators and filters, so it's probably based on SOME algorithms used in Kronos, which were then additionally spruced up. |

Looks like a souped up R3/Radias with Korg Italy getting their paws on the design (they designed the SV-1). I just am not warming up to the color of it. Also would have thought they would use the same valve cover as the SV-1 (but maybe that would make it to family-like). If it is a sub 1k synth, and sounds good (like the Sub Phatty), then it could be a winner. ---- ʝλ√λʝ |

Analog is Great, but ... VA's are Great Sounding Synths too ! Especially if it is a polyphonic VA synth. Most Analog New Synth coming out these days are Monophonic (they can't play a single chord) |

Will somebody please tell Korg that I'm trying to save up money? That I must use my hard-earned cash for things like carpets and sofas and dishwashers and toasters?

Well it certainly LOOKS nice.. but I have to wonder, if real, why are there so many controls dedicated to effects and so relatively few dedicated to actual sound shaping (oscillators/LFOs and envelopes) ??
Also, again if this is real, it most definitely wouldn't be below 1000 USD.. actually, I'm guessing somewhere between 1300 and 1600 USD. I just hope the keybed isn't as terribad (terribly bad) as the one they used on the M50. yeeeech! I almost bought one a couple of years ago, until I gave one a try in person and immediately realized the keys were as cheap as a yamaha psr or casio.. horrible! All of that is... IF this is real.. which I'm still not convinced. ---- "Use the talents you possess, for the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except the best." - Henry Van Dyke |

Especially with Lead sounds i like to add vibrato with aftertouch. Ingo |

A slightly evolved version of the MS-2000 from a decade ago.
Which doesn't mean it won't be a nice synth.... |

Lack of aftertouch is a no buy from me too. |
