This one sounds as great as that last one.
Definitely movie/tv/game sountrack quality.
Question?
Do you use pre-recorded midi parts, and mix them up, or do you play the parts playing the keys...or draw in your own midi parts?
How did you do the music to your daw?
Hey, thanks again!
I do a combination of playing the parts on my Axiom(I need a new keyboard, I've beaten the poor thing to death) and drawing them in to make things fit nicely.(I'm not a very tidy keyboardist...)

But very talented composer and sound designer!
Your strings and brass and woodwinds are gorgeous! Can you please write a couple of words describing overall principle of your synthesis scheme? Are you working mainly with waveforms/spectrum, or at higher level with Osc FX and filters? FM/Ringmod?

Thank you for the compliments! :)

Well, the first thing that came to my mind in all honesty was: Messy :hihi:
I spend a LOT of time experimenting. Before I come up with something satisfactory, lets say, a brass instrument, I'll usually have come up with anything from 2-10+ patches on my way to the final result that don't necessarily sound like brass, but can serve other purposes down the road should the occasion arise. I don't always get exactly what I want, I'm really REALLY haphazard. That's my workflow as of now, but I've been trying very hard to get cleaner, more cpu efficient results, as long as I don't sacrifice timbre.

I do a combination of all kinds of synthesis. For modelling physical instruments, I seem to be favoring a lot of spectral painting, especially for the woodwinds. The AP Phaser filters are really crucial to my sound as well - you can get a lot of different timbres running your signal through them: rounded, nasal, flat, edgy, etc...
Also, I just discovered how much the shape modules help. You can get that last bit of ring/punch you need tinkering with the wedge option on. This works really well for getting that growl out of your brass.
As for FX, I use the Delay modules to add a little space.(really crucial, because you don't want your instruments to sound like they're nowhere :hihi: ) I'll usually switch to the multitap 4 mode, turn both feedback knobs all the way down, and make the delay times very short.

I suppose, to summarize my words, you can really achieve good results from just about any kind of synthesis, it just takes some digging, so you're going to get super messy. Ugh, I am getting old, I keep repeating myself...:dog: :hihi:

Have a good one!

Es, you should release a commercial patch-bank. Those sounds are amazing.

Thank you for information!
I used spectral drawing for one of my guitar models too, It seems is very efficient way for modelling acoustic instruments. I analyzed reference guitar samples at different notes and tryed to recreate overall spectral pattern, trying to separate true spectral shape from body response.

But using AP Filter is very interesting idea! I used it only for synthetic sounds, not for acoustic modelling.

I like the noise and dominant percussion! Fun stuff!
Thanks :)
Sorry for the late response, I haven't seen this earlier

Here's my latest all-Zebra shindig, well, it's kinda dark and scary for a Shindig! :o

I can't help but be inspired by Hans Zimmer, who says he made the Inception soundtrack 99% with Zebra. I've been trying to get my synthetic orchestra together for about a year now or so, and it's culminated into this so far. I think I used about 30-40 instances of Zebra.(quite taxing on my AMD six-core rig)
So I kinda had to do some spots "blind" because of severe underruns.(meaning I'd play the line I wanted to put over a certain part by itself then plug it into the appropriate section of the song then do a render to see how it sounded)
I've also been trying to be efficient with my time to prepare for business with clients. I did this in about 7 hours from scratch(if you don't count the hours I spent before designing some of the sounds I used.)
Also, due to the anticipated release of Zebra 3,(I keep saying I'll do this, and I keep putting it off :dog: ) I'm going to really try to get a commercial bank together.
It's practically done, but I've just got to get things organized and practical for those who aren't familiar with the sounds.
This track is stunning! Absolutely amazing! The sounds are really, really nice too!
I'd definitely like to see a commercial bank from you :)

Apologies if this has already been posted here but The Dark Knight Rises score by Zimmer is up to stream here - http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=34498

I'm assuming most of the synthesis (check out the basses on track 13 "Imagine the Fire") is by Zebra.
"What embecile composed this list :/"

They forgot "The End" which is a 100% ZebraHZ track...

You're welcome and thank you!
I'll be doing some polls for my bank later I think. I need to make sure of what people would want. Also, I'm going to wait until after U-He releases HZ's bank, so I can make sure I don't release something redundant.
Yes, CPU...I left my concerns about it tied to the old Pentium III on the bottom of the ocean. :hihi:

Psha...of course they would do that! All the more reason for me to wait for the end of the actual movie to hear the soundtrack and be the last guy in the theater, swooning over the credits, wierding out my friends and my date... :D

This tune was done with Zebra, all the sounds are from the "Zebras Dream
in Color" presets.
One of the absolute BEST IMHO.

Track made entirely with Zebra HZ and Zebralette (except hi-hats, which were only Zebrafied). It's a bit late 90's, but was quick and fun to make.
