I bought Mr Sax Soprano a few month ago...

....and all i can say is that it is currently the only emulation that can accurately reproduce a convincing solo wind instrument in a detailed manner
Almost everybody at Vi-Control composer forums just swear its a company they would buy their product in total confidence

Now that a new Saxophones package as been released :

i though it was fair to give them here a little, improvised publicity, needless to say that it is a truly amazing work for the ones who want a solo wind instrument in their production !

i love their stuff and i am very happy to see that they start porting their stuff to their own engine. hope they will do the same for the Trumpet and the Trombone!

I have no complaints about any of their instruments.

I own The Trumpet, Sax Brothers T, A & B, SWAM Soprano Sax and SWAM Clarinets

However you might want to read the SM forums WRT their attitude towards and treatment of their customers and decide for yourself before purchasing. ;)
My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Akai VIP = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.

Exactly.

Samplemodelling instruments are second to none, hi tech and passion in a rare symbiosis. I've bought every single one of them.

But offering to sell me, as an owner of all their saxes, those basically same instruments using their proprietary platform (developed to get rid the NI licensing fees and to stop piracy, mainly) for €150 isn't my idea of good customer care.

Samplemodelling won't even state if the 'new' instruments are better than the 'old' ones and refuse to call them an update/upgrade. They're 'new' but SM won't tell what is new and why I should upgr… er, buy them again at that price.

With no downloadable and playable demos, it's impossible to judge.

So, I'm a fan of SM's instruments but not of their loyal early adopter customer relations.

I like these in demos but i dont like idea using own player. and applies all manufacturers expect Vienna Symphonic Library which really have good points for it. and Piracy is not good point becouse i bet is next to impossible stop it anyway.

I'm a huge fan of the Sample Modeling instruments. I have been fortunate to use them in some prestigious live performances with great results.

The SWAM player is great in my experience. The way the CC numbers are available for real-time modulation is just great.

The Sample Modeling developers definitely know how to make immensely playable sounds  and I'm looking forward to more offerings from them.

For what that's worth, as the admin of that forum censors opinions unwelcome by their advertisers.

They barely censor at all there. And there's plenty of posts criticizing (even trashing) sample developers there. People speak quite freely at V.I. Control.

What BachRules wrote is not true at all. VI-Control is, in fact, one of the most free and open forums you will ever have the pleasure of visiting.

BTW, BachRules (and his various aliases) was an infamous mischief-maker over at VI-Control before he got banned there, and I am sorry to see that he is continuing his mischievous ways here at KVR.

I'm a developer who's programmed for Intel and Creative Labs who got harassed by a vi-control mod ("I'll be on your heels for a while now") for reporting a bug in one of their advertisers' products:

and you're some monkey who's come here to harass me further for it.
