Shreddage Bass - recommendation for a good bass amp sim?

Hi all, I just bought Shreddage Bass to add to my Shreddage library, and I'm having trouble getting a good amped bass tone. All I really have are the bass amp sims built into Logic 9, and those just aren't cutting it. Can anyone recommend a good bass amp sim, or even settings within the Shreddage Bass plugin? The bass tone I typically go for is hard rock/metal... thick, punchy, bottom-y, but with noticeable snappy string attack - I'm also down-tuned to C and B most of the time.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Welcome stpete111. I use Amplitube 3 with the Gallien-Krueger amp. I use it with Shreddage Bass, and a friend also uses it with a DI Ibanez 5-string bass. It's got a really nice round tone, and with the Ibanez, reminds me of Tool's Lateralus albums bass track. Here's an "old" track of mine with said amp and Shreddage Bass:

Amplitube is nice, but it certainly is not cheap. Regardless of price, it's my personal favorite amp sim. They do have a free version I believe, cut down and missing most amps. Worth a look though.

Thanks guys and great news... I already own Amplitube 3! I guess I've just never really taken the time to dive into it that deep to realize there were bass amps in it! Shows you how attentive I am. Ok going to check it out right now!

I like some of the AT3 stuff, The Fender TBP-1 and Ampeg SVX alot but to get started those two will get you off to a good start, Just grab some decent mic'd cab impulse for use with the bass amp head sim. Still if you've got money to spend then you can try the AT3 add-ons via the custom shop to get an idea of what you do and don't like...etc.
All the best

Overloud Mark Studio is nice, softube's Metal Amp Room, EZmix2 and Studio Devil's bass amp are useful as well.
