Hi folks

here's a new track I made which is much different from my usual techno stuff. Made in FLstudio with mostly free stuff

I hope someone enjoys it Smile

thanks very much! I wasn't trying to recreate a particular era, just stick to melodies and interesting chord changes rather than the usual noodling and sound mangling, which automatically makes it sound retro Laughing

Love it! Great motifs, good sound! The arps in particular works really well with me. Smile

Do you mind sharing your sound sources?

thanks. The arp at the beginning is z3ta+ and the one at the end is the native 3osc synth in FLstudio - nothing very exotic Smile

the other synth sounds are all from multiple sources. There are lots of layers, and I used a lot of samples of sounds I've created and processed many times in the past, so can't really specify any particular synth, though I tend to only use simple and/or free ones and use lots of effects to make something more interesting. There is synth1 mixed in with most of the melodies, but not the chords.

Fantastic. I'd enjoy playing a Hammeresque lead line or three with this.

...nice one, highly enjoyed! cool sounds, nice melody lines and interesting chord changes. this song makes me aware that I'm more shaped by the 80's than I'm aware of.
now listening a second time.

cheers

Great track!

To me this is just (good) music, not specifically 80's music.
Does that mean I'm an 80's child as well? Cool

Awesome! This is really good!
I'm an 80's child as well so... Smile
You're right about throwing some melodies over chords almost instantly sounds 80's
The same thing happened to me on some tracks. I loved it but I'm trying not to get limited by it.
Will check out your other stuff.
Thanks
