Wood. Check.
Clamps. Check.
Pocket hole screws. Check.
Primer. Check.
Metallic red paint. Check.

Already have a pocket hole drill and wood glue, and my rack rails will arrive tomorrow.

The only thing I'll need now is the proper screws and washers to attach the rails to the boxes.

Thanks! Smile

What I'm building this weekend is only a stop-gap until the weather warms up and I can devote more time outside to building my actual desk. Practice, if you will. Smile

The reason for such a tiny rack here is that this is where my FURMAN power conditioner will go, so it's a very shallow, two-space rack. I hope to pick up a second FURMAN soon, or is it a bad idea to have two power conditioners?

Ive had half my gear sat incompletely cabled from when I buildt a new PC last christmas. Had been getting nowhere sorting out the cabling, then moved some stuff around, which meant i'd have had to redo it, so wound up just hooking stuff up on the fly. which is daft considering I have 24in-/out-puts and three patchbays because I didnt want to be constantly doing that. Swore blind to myself I'd get it done for the new year. Failed.

Friday I finally undid all the cables to the patchbays again, moved some gear back to where it had been, hooked up all the midi cables for everything, and over saturday and sunday patched in three ADAT'd audio interfaces to the patchbays, as well as hooking up all my outboard synths, including finally making up permanent cables long enough to reach the bugmodular as well as the matrix-1000. also got about half the synth inputs hooked up, on all four modulars and the evolver, the expert sleepers euro module, and the stuff serving as samplers/loopers. all thats left to be done is basically some other smaller bits and outboard effects like the space echo and Vortex, although that'll need a handful of new cables.

even took time out while the soldering iron was hot to properly complete two of the contact mics that have been sat there all year, and sort out the cabling on my DIY binaural headset.

its all been a fairly atypical productivity/organisation burst that was topped off with half an hour or so of nice source material recorded while testing the contact mic on an ebowd/prepared guitar (its all about the fret buzz), followed today in my lunch hour by half another half hour's worth sourced from a telephone pickup rcording the electromagnetic fields of the computers on my desk.

unprecedented.
