Searched the KVR forums, and it appeared that there was no official Xils 3 dedicated thread.

So here it is, and you can ask all questions, and write all comments in this thread.

11/11/2014 : Soft Ilok Protection available. No more HW dongle required ( unless you wish so ... )
for Xils3v2 and Xils 4
31/03/2014 : The Xils 3 V 2.0 GUI

And the news of the day is : Xils 3 goes AAX :)

You can check the beta versions here :

http://www.xils-lab.com/pages/XILS3_Dow ... aller.html

Note : During the installation process on MAC, make sure you are selecting AAX instead of RTAS

Version 1.5.3 :
  • Presets : Some presets weren't loaded correctly (from 1.5.0 to 1.5.1 ONLY) : The Keyboard Playing mode setting wasn't correctly set (always in "Circular Poly" what ever the display indicated). Fixed.
Matrix : GUI mouse clic fixed (double clic issue)
Sequencer and matrix preset management : improved (no more eventual crashes)
Filter level knob : is now working properly
Sequencer : when releasing the keyboard, the oscillators kept their pitch
Sequencer one shot mode : now works correctly
Envelope level modulation : now correctly modulated when tied to velocity
Import/export banks : no more crashes when the file name was very long
RTAS windows : Correctly launches in Protools

What's the deal with AAX, is it taking over for the RTAS format?

Post

Hi,

RTAS plug-ins are now deprecated and won't be launched from Protools 11 and later.
(Protools 10 is still launching both RTAS and AAX, but this is the last version using RTAS format).

Just an update to say that this beta (as well as the Synthix) has been successfully tested by the Digidesign Team and is now listed on the Avid AAX plug-in list.

Best regards

Hi, I have XILS LE and PolyKB Player, and am considering the upgrade. I love PolyKB, sounds amazing. However, I'm curious about the presets on XILS LE. I'm on Mac Mountain Lion, and I find most of the presets really low in volume, and many are very static-y. I think I saw this mentioned a few months ago in another thread, and there may have been some discussion of a fix. Just wondering if I'm doing anything wrong. Thanks...

There was a problem on some presets going from version 1.5.0 to 1.5.1 on the Xils 3, and it has been fixed. Maybe it was the same problem with the corresponding LE version( See my first post )

Should you upgrade for the full Xils3, I made a big, and very affordable, soundset that you can find on Xils-Lab site. Its called Xilistics, and you can listen to a bunch of audio demos for it.

All the presets have max volume, and full modulations possibilities assigned, but what is especially interesting imho with Xilistics is that it gives you a lot of "synthesizer templates" that you can save and reuse. ( As you can save the whole left matrix of Xils 3 as "a template" or "a synth" )

So I have explored a lot of synthesizer "possible structures" that -I think- are good and usefull starting blocks to make your own sounds. The original Xils 3 Library is very experimental, and the focus was mainly put on all the crazy patches you can get with a full modular synthesizer. Xilistics offers many bnb patches like keys, pads, leads etc, as well as some very sophisticated ones.

We added A LOT of things, the GUI and UI has been totally revamped, the workflow is much better.

It's a real major update.

As for the price of the upgrade, I think that, in regard to all what we have added, you'll be MORE than happily surprised : it's ......
