The title is a bit misleading. but. just throwing it out there.

here is the link to the download that allows you to "view" notation in Reaper.
http://yellowbites.com/downloads/ReScore-1.0.0.zip
the Source Code is included in the file
Your job is to code it so we can "edit" the notation.
good luck!

Thank you, thank you - I found a link in an old post from years back that had something going - but it was broken.
Now we can tap our fingers - while this is finished for us - OR NOT.

Haven't read the other thread completely yet, does Reaper's API actually allow this kind of bi-directional editing ?
Not that I would be able to program such a thing myself and I would greatly appreciate if someone does it, just wondering if it's actually possible at all.

Actually this would have been YOUR task to find out before advertising this job.memyselfandus wrote:good question!
(just kidding)
edit:
More seriously, I think best thing is if a coder who is interested and motivated in doing this is asking, because he can ask more specific questions anyway.
edit2:
Didn't see your reply below, sorry.
Sure, also fine if you're going to ask if it's possible in principle.

Strange to me that he has an ask me a question page.. I guess he likes answering random questions and sharing his opinion?Note: please do not ask questions about REAPER features, bugs or scheduling, use the forums instead.

I know this paragraph, but I'd think it's meant towards those 'begging' questions as in 'when will feature X be coming', 'when will you fix bug Y' etc. Asking a coding-related question like this about Reaper's API/Score editor would be fine I'd assume.VitaminD wrote: At the top of the pageStrange to me that he has an ask me a question page.. even something simple like Drum Set notation would be amazing!

this is such a good idea to make a VSTi sequencer,
although I'm sure there's a few out there.
I can't load or save MIDI,
but I can create and record it.

An aside - my life improved considerably when I read about Reaper's "Convert active take MIDI to .mid file reference" command. I edit the MIDI in Harmony Assistant and export it back and Reaper's got the changes.
I want Justin to buy Myriad. I also wanted desktop Itanium.

Question: does Reaper's API allow bi-directional editing for implementing Notation?
Answer: "Not directly, I suppose we should add some APIs to do batch updates of MIDI items."
good news?

Reaper support rewire on both audio and midi - so a notation host/slave with rewire midi support would allow that.memyselfandus wrote:Question: does Reaper's API allow bi-directional editing for implementing Notation?

Talked to people at Notion on this - and they didn't understand the request - they think people work in Notion and want only audio in there.
So making these people understand the need for midi over rewire, would make it really easy to use - is a good start.
