I am looking for a good text to voice VST plugin. There is one built into FL Studio. looking for one with natural sounding voices. pretty much the same thing that the one in FL Studio does but with more Voice options.

Post

I don't know it, but it has more options:

and this one here:

Unfortunately Mac only.
Can this thread be erased?
Im tired of the fanboys and the clueless know it alls.

thank you. one needs a ilok to try and the other is mac. I either need to get a mac or buy a ilok :)

damn it.

Or look out for vocaloid. PC only and no ilok (I didn't search enough ;)). But no vst I guess.

was thinking vocaloid. will keep searching :)

I could use kontakt or whatever but I need each key to correspond to a specific vocal phrase and have it say the phrase longer or shorter depending on the note value..

A few standalone (and web based) programs that may do the job ...
Speakonia
tts
AT&T
Ivona
Natural Reader
Text To Speech
VozMe

Make sure you read the eula/license carefully, I remember that not all of these allow commercial use (I could be remembering wrong).

I am pretty sure Military has had it perfected for years, but the first commercial softsynth to pull off a really convincing text to voice algorithim is going to be a bigger hit than autotune. I wasn't too impressed by by Vocaloid.

Permut8

Theres a bank that turns it into a classic text 2 speach.
Also Fruitloops has a FL native plugin.
Amazon: why not use an alternative

readplease2000 isn't bad, for standalone. later versions
i remember as less appealing.(try to teach your PC to speech
recognise, then copy the results into a text speaker, you get
good stuff from that ;) )

but i've been asking about a VST plugin for this for a while,
and there was a guy who re-wrote ShitTalker for (?Mac?), and he
replied and said he'd think about a VST plugin, but no news since.

oh yeah: you'll like ShitTalker. as for the others mentioned above,
these are all pretty old now. surprised not more interest in this,
could be good for trying out lyrics/words in context, triggered by
MIDI. could always do it with a sampler...(beside the point but...)

I cant find anything when searching for 'sapi5 vst' though. I think for realistic, those voices are the way to go, but sadly, no vsts?

If you can live with exporting to wav/mp3, there are a lot of small freeware apps that can handle the payware SAPI4-5 voice packs, i think those are the ones that sound the most realistic, when you take the time with the text. Male, female, multilingual, so many to choose from.

I cant believe theres no sapi vsts yet =/

Could try AnalogX Sayit

There are no VST plugins I know of apart from the few that have been mentioned.

What I used to do, is use Textaloud which lets you host high-end voice synthesizers. You can then save the spoken text as a .wav file and sample away!
