Postby Radley; Mon Sep 02, 2013 8:14 pm Problem Solved - Camel Phat/Space package RAWKS! [SOLVED]

Disappointed - I just paid $150 for the Camel Phat/Space package & performed the installation as recommended, but still only show 63 presets in each :( The additional presets were a big part of the reason I took the plunge, so I am very disappointed!

Any help would be much appreciated... (Mac OS 10.8.4 - Logic Pro 10.0.3)

hi,

have you tried clicking on the preset name immediately above the XY square rather than using the hosts preset management? if you do, you should see a bunch of folders containing 100's of presets.

cheers,

You may want to change the thread title in order to show you've fixed your disappointment ;)

And when you're done with all those, here are some more nice ones http://rekkerd.org/patches/plug-in/camelspace/

Thanks for the links! Question: Will presets done back in 2006 & 2008 still sound right on the latest versions of C-Space & C-Phat?

Excellent!

Yes older presets should be backwards compatible with the current versions. There are additional presets in our user library too - see the a link on the left of our support pages, after logging in.

Peace,
Andy.

OK - I'm a Mac user & have downloaded some C-Space/Phat presets from the site. They appear to be unix files/fxb, and I don't know what to do with them - not used to seeing these on a Mac. Any clues would be appreciated... Thanks.

Place the files the plugin data folder:

CamelPhat banks:

/Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Camel Audio/CamelPhatData

CamelSpace banks:

/Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Camel Audio/CamelSpaceData

Create a new instance of the plugin for the changes to take effect.

Peace,
Andy.

Andy - Amazingly, there is no Camel Audio folder in Application support. Not sure what this means since the plugins are working fine... :(

Did you start at "Macintosh HD" or "User/<username>"?

The folder used by our plugins is in the Library/App Support folder starting from the top-level folder of your system disk.

Peace,
Andy.

The latest: Everything is sounding great, but when I save my own individual presets, they are somehow not showing up in the internal preset menus. What am I doing wrong?

Yes it is a little unintuitive because the plugins use the VST preset / bank format, and there is no easy way to rename presets via the GUI.

The basic idea is this:

1. Create and save your presets as *.fxp files

2. Load the individual preset files in to each successive slot of a bank
- there is an empty bank for each plugin available from our User Library

3. Save the bank as a .fxb file
- the bank will now be available from the presets menu

To set a bank as the default bank, overwrite "-Default.fxb".

Peace,
Andy.

Thanks Andy - Unfortunately, the CP/CS plugins are rather cumbersome when saving/updating presets on a Mac. I hope Camel Audio can soon improve things for the growing Mac contingent...
