I'm currently working on a project called Evil Tonelab, a modular system built with MaxMSP.
Because it uses Alex Harker's dynamicdsp~ objects, to allow loading and unloading of modules on the fly without breaking the signal chain, it is only currently available for Max 5 on Mac OS (it should work with Max 6, but I've not yet tested it).
It's aimed at sound designers, live musicians, remixers, composers, loopers, controllerists, bedroom DJ's or just plain old Maxheads - anyone who likes to make evil tones, in fact.
It's 100% free, and you can find the latest builds at my blog http://the-lone-roger.blogspot.com/
You'll find links to several Youtube videos there, which should explain things a bit more.
It's loosely based on Framework, an open-source patch that Leafcutter John shared a few years back, which used scripting to load bpatchers into a serial chain of signal processors.
What I've done is extend this so that they can be chained in any order via a matrix, added separate modulator patches and (Midi) input patches, plus a whole load of other stuff.
And of course by using dynamicdsp~, you can do all this on the fly without breaking the signal chain.
As I'm writing this up for my Masters in Music Engineering & Production, which has to be submitted at the end of January, I desperately need some user feedback, so please have a play with it and drop me a line,

ok, since no one stepped up here, I'll try to lend a hand. I installed both runtimes, v5 & v6, and hit a snag.
v6 doesn't allow for loading any modules at all.
v5 will load the Generators, but no modulators or midi components appear when selected. Also, the Generators Mixer will not initialize; its interface is missing with no faders displaying, etc.
I reproduced the steps you made in your youtube video, btw.
If you haven't already, you might wanna confirm behaviors observed here on your end via the runtime and not the full version of Max. I suspect this may be why you haven't landed assistance up to now; it simply doesn't initialize in the runtime version.
