Thanks you are right it feels like a new piece. What a lot to discover in the Waterphone sounds..

I wonder if I should get the Waterphone soundpack to experiment with too?

You don't need the Waterphone SoundPack, the samples are identical, so you can just take the wavs from the Samples/Waterphone folder in the Scattered Entity-library and experiment with those.

Thanks for the info!

Lovely track! Arctic, cold, white light in winter, ice cubes, submerged meditation music.

A wide variety sounds from various Scattered Entity categories are used.
Composed/Mixed using Numerology4 Pro beta.

Glad to see the forum up again.

I've worked on with Scattered Entity sounds here's my latest track:

Additionally I've used the AcousticSampleS Upright Bass which is included with Mach Five, and I recently also got the DrumsTAsteBrush Library, which I just had a sense would work well with Scattered Entity sounds..

Everything composed and mixed using Numerology4 Pro..

I've been getting into different ways to program the percussion and some of the other things too, so it seems to me to be getting a little more lively feel and is more varied and structured.

Great Work on the sounds Simon!

Very nice, Wade. listening now - I love what you did with the Thai Gongs and the tenor sax here, now the Electro-Kit-drums come in, a sudden break and we're in the surreal zone again, you really let the listener go to the wall sometimes :)

EDIT: Yeah, the combo of the Impulse/Response synth and the drums is great!

Thanks for the insights! I'm really fascinated by the impuls response based synth. Never would have thought of that idea... Beautiful GUI on the macro page too.

New track. I really work on different ideas, and experimented with lots of modulation up to 40 modulation source sequencers in Numerology4 Pro doing various things to the sounds and panning on the percussive elements.

Listening now, great opening - then ouch, what is this, a telephone call from Mars, synthetic ghosts flying around, then silence...here we go again, the insisting metal percussion banging away over dark and mystical textures - sonic overkill...

Yup new version on the way.. errr, I heard a saying that excess is the path to wisdom, then the question is when, when?

LOL :D - it's just that sometimes you add so many things to the dish that I can't taste it anymore :)

New Version, What I did:

I made the beginning section longer, to ease the ears/soul before the percussion section comes in, the percussion section is a contrast section and does not meld in with the earlier section. functions like a faster plot driving scene in an otherwise pastoral film about cows and pasteurs, clouds, and the activity around impid puddles filled with tadpoles.

I removed:

Pitch glides on some of the sounds, the ghosts...

I moved from polytonality between some parts to full 12 tone harmonic tonally centered and reworked the base harmonic progression. Simplified som global transposition as well.

I reduced the number of instruments.

deleting the vibraphone and replacing with muted tai gong split turning the delay off, and triming the high frequencies.

I changed one of the earlier sounds to the Bowed Waterphone sounds.

I focused the instrumentation trying to get call and response happening in the percussion section with only one pad like sound the Evil Grains. Though the bowed waterphone does come in at one point.

I tweaked some of the modulation sequencers, though I still need to work on understanding the effects of, and getting the most out of the Scattered Entity sounds Macro, and Script modulation possiblitties.

I found a few bugs and missing connections in my setup..

I increased the tempo to 84 bpm from 77 bpm.

I thinned out in the percussion event density.

I guess it's a different track altogether, so it's not a version two..
