Well, I have no use for this thing at all personally, but hoaly schnizz it is a powerful tool.

Amazing, but it seems completely and totally attached to working with a pile of premade loops.
I guess it might be a big hit, but I literally dont know what I would do with it. Remix myself, maybe.
TT deserves major hype though. Consistently jaw-dropping products, imo.
Oh, and who makes their promo vids!?? Top notch production-

Same here... no use for this one, but love what they do.

S-Layer is still an amazing tool to work with, especially with Lemur or other device interaction. The default library of S-Layer is focused mostly on drum kits, but it can do so much more with other content.

And pre made loops aren't such a bad thing to work with especially if you made your own to begin with.

And oh-yeah.... Another amazing video!

tbh I find S-Layer boring, I must admit when I bought it I didn't know it was entirely devoted to drum kits. They don't advertise that clearly. Yes I could bung in my own samples but tbh Reaktor's sample management is rather sucky right now since they updated it to 5.8 it got a lot more complicated to work with.

It's not building them that's the problem, it's swapping one for another and un-embedding them from ensembles that's harder.

Oooh, S-Layer is worth another look aMUSEd! :)
Dont wanna derail this thread, but fwiw, its one of the greatest things I got in 2013, and I never use it for drums.
Risers/Splashes/Impacts... Best thing EVAR!!!

Sure but I just wish they had shipped it with a more interesting set of presets and samples in the first place to really show off what it can do.

it's easy enough to throw a bunch of stuff together and create a reaktor sample map. sometimes you have to do just the smallest amount of legwork to make music :) #snark

srsly though.. this thing is crazy. the modulation is bewilderingly deep. i think it'll be fun to make some really really simple sample maps of dry but punchy sounds.. even stems of of drum mixes and just rock out with it.

obviously it's not for everyone. some people don't get a thrill out of this kind of sample manipulation.

i can see getting into it

It's slick an' all, but doesn't seem that much quicker than using my DAW to do the same thing. I can load up a bunch of loops, mute different parts of each track, create a submix, add effects automation. What this tool seems to do is trade some flexibility for ease of use and speed, which is cool, but if you're quick at working in your DAW, I don't see this bringing anything new to the table.

69 dollars without Reaktor Player compatability, that's quite pricey :o

I found it very easy with that tool... Drag and drop, no?

The parts I didn't like was that it limits the number of sample to use, and in cases of wanting to use source material from multiple sample folders, you'd have to build a new folder first.

Twisted Tools have unique and cool ensembles for sure, but their stuff is starting to be pretty repetitive now, they all sound to same to me, which is massive mashups of FX samples randomly crunched together.

Then ensembles or the promo videos?

A promo is a promo.... You know, whatever you can do to grab someone's attention (and yeah, they are similar, but IMO, very well done).

The ensemble... Well it should be what you make of it especially since you shouldn't be limited to the content it ships with. It's another mangle device.
