I used to use this one in Orion (back in the days) because Orion's chainer can only hold 4 FX maximum:

Yeah I know, but can you say 'ugly solution'. Try saying that ten times very fast, feels the same as actually doing thatKriminal wrote:You can load a chainer inside a chaner, so its never been limited to 4 FX.

Yo dawg, i herd you like chainers, so I put a chainer in your chainer so you can chain chainers together into a totally off the chain chain of chained chainers, yo.

I know, but it could be a simpler way than Making one from scratch.dformd wrote:The OP doesn't want modular.Biscotto wrote:MUX

Acon effect chainer? I think it only handles effects though.

Thanks man, this shit kicks! I have Kore 2 but using it sometimes is like trying to kill a mosquito with a jackhammer. Also Kore 2 in my opinion seems to be more of a cult than a chainer plugin which isn't that bad in some cases but sometimes I just want a simple little chainer to recall synth & effects stacks. The Blue Cat is really light, simple and cool. Very well done!billcarroll wrote:Blue Cat's PatchWork

Thanks for the replies guys, sorry I haven't replied to my thread lately, my computer keeps crashing almost constantly, hopefully it holds out long enough for me to read them all and maybe find what I'm looking for!!

Thanks this one is new to me and I own FL STUDIO! Will check it out, I noticed it can be used as an external vsti which is good and what I'm after.dune_rave wrote:FL Patcher !

*Edit- lol this one is modular too What's up with all these chainer's being modular where you have to connect both left right channels then attach to output, is there some benefit to this I'm not aware of?, would really appreciate a faster and less complicated method, I will experiment with this some more though and see how it goes.

This seems to work fine and its free, ie a demo that works? Took me a little bit to figure out how to view loaded vsti's gui and computer crashed again before I figured out how to save presets (not plugins fault), I would be happy with it if it didn't have its own preset browser for each vsti and its own mixer for the vsti's, these are all well and good but IMO not really needed cause each synth usually has there own browser and I have Orions mixer that I'm happy with.V'ger wrote:Phrazor is good and free.

In short I wouldn't classify this as being simple though it looks pretty easy to use, to clarify when I say simple I mean a really simple plugin with not any other windows to bother with, ie mixer, browser etc, for the vsti chainer just a simple slot to load vsti's in sequence would suffice, save and load presets, and each vsti' to open its own mixer channel in host daw. If you look at my original post you can see an fx chainer, a vsti similar to this in terms of complexity or options would be ideal IMO.

Yes, they'll do side chaining, layering, all sorts of things that a regular chainer won't. Some will even let you set up extra modulators and conteollers for automation, process midi, all sorts of stuff.mysticvibes wrote:

And if your chainer supports 'replace' of one plugin by another,it's no slower than a fixed-chain one if you set up a few templates in advance.
A modular chainer is the most useful thing to add to any DAW, IMO.
