The only one I've found so far is Monstrumfeld at $49.99 which looks like it's still a beta

Is there anything else out there? I'm interested in the idea of bulk patch storage on the PC, but also something that's stable and actually works so any experience with the one I linked to or alternatives is appreciated.

I was a tester for Monstrum, and, while the standalone works great, I had some trouble with early builds of the VST and to be honest didn't try it too much since I didn't really want or use a VST editor.

There is another one that has been mentioned on this forum that works OK in my limited experience with it. Can't recall the name, sorry....

Post

Hmmm, standalone would actually be ok as I only really want to use it as a librarian and maybe assistant to some sound design.

Thanks for the info.

He also has a very nice wavetable creator for the Blofeld on his page.

Thanks chaps

I tried the softknobs plugin and it looks great. I'm stuck with the get patch function however (it's not receiving sysex from the Blofeld) so I might have to email the dev although it seems that he gave up on it in 2010.

No, there is a new beta available if you dig a bit on the website ;)
A new version should be coming soon.

Aha nice, thanks :)

I'm surprised nobody has put something tested and commercial out there, they must have sold thousands of Blofelds over the years.

For iPad, check out Patch Morpher. He finished the Blofeld editor and will be releasing it for purchase in the next month or so. The app is free but you need to buy the controls for the supported synths. Watch the video- it's amazing and will be a huge blessing for Blofeld owners. I will actually consider using it live now that I can easily create pads with my finger :)

That sounds cool. In case people didn't know, the Blofeld is class compliant- all you need is a CCK and a USB cable to attach it to an iPad.

Post

Hmmmm, not sold on patch morpher tbh. It's clever, but not really an actual editor in the strictest sense.

And I don't have an iPad anyway

If you have an Ipad you can use my layout for sound design.

Actually it IS a full editor in the strictest sense. That also has a complex patch morpher.
