With all of the Anomaly sounds, remember that the lower octaves are your friends.

These sounds are designed to be played from Middle C and lower. At least to my ears.

Other than that, a bottle of Sake and a warped imagination, then listen to it again the next day without the Sake...

Some thoughts on Anomaly for Alchemy...

The Lost Souls presets: Sources A and B are the primary , vocalish sounds, with sources C and D somewhat in the background. If you want the vocals to be more prominent, turn off the reverb in the FX and push sources C and D further into the background.

The Asylum presets: Again, sources A and B are the primary sounds, with C and D meant to be less in the background than the Lost Souls presets, but still less emphasized than sources A and B. Consider pushing sources C and D further into the background to bring out the subtleties in sources A and B.

In the Darkness and Lost Souls presets: The remix variations and the performance views change primarily the tone/colour of the sounds through the setting of individual filters and the master filters and FX. Consider changing the XY window controls to mix the sources themselves and put both master filters on one XY window. Also, consider getting more aggressive with the filter settings, or just clear all performance view/remix variation settings and assign your own.

All of the presets are basically starting points. Feel free to ditch anything and assign all of your own controls, filters, FX - whatever you like. And do not hesitate to change sources of shift them from Sampler to Granular, Spectral or Additive.

Alchemy is a complex instrument. Explore what it can do...

Cool... Alien Nightmares #1 brings to mind having landed on a strange world. #2 bring me images of exploring some ruins found there. Still listening to #2. Will check out the two variants to #1 when I am finished...

Working on a track that's almost all Anomaly for Alchemy, called "Universe Death Clock".. just Anomaly and some clock ticking loops.. will post a link once it's done!

I actually have taken a week off. I finally sleep more than 4 hours a night, made some skins for the Anomaly VSTi and some presets for the new Wusik Beta.... I could probably do with another week off, though....
