1. It will be expensive!
2. The return on investment, if I ever wanted to sell it, would be horrible.
3. I would be taking a gamble on whether or not I would actually like it, after I played with it for a while
4. I have limited skills with the soldering iron

I buy second-hand Warmoth builds and tweak them to be what I want. The build quality is stellar and the setups are usually surprisingly good (after all, consider the kind of person who who do a Warmoth build). The ROI is consistently good this way, I'm usually paying about half of what I'd pay if I were to build these from scratch. Regarding it being a gamble, it's easier to get what you're after when you have a solid place to start from.

Looks heavy. ;)

Seriously, though, the 12-string side has a killer bridge design. I love the hazmat inlays, too.

Those are cool graphics :)

But yeah- doublenecks can get pretty heavy. My Gibson's not really that heavy in total weight, but it's really unbalanced because it's so neck heavy. I wish I could find a Steinberger doubleneck for a reasonable price.

Yeah- those inlays are nice. :)

It almost assuredly is paint- hence my graphics comment. It reminds me of a lot of the GMW builds such as this one:

Or, this:

It's Brobdingnagian- Philip Jose Farmer would have approved!

It's not going to be my "next" guitar, but I really would like a Vai Jem. They've gone WAY WAY up in price to redunculousville but was just thinking I'd really like one.

Actually, many guitars seem to have gone up in price. I've noticed Carvins have gone up, the one I bought would be like 300 more now :?

I've decided on an original Michael Kelly Vibe
mkvibe.jpg
It's before the bc rich buyout.

Maple top and neck, mahogany back and sides.

From the looks (I looked everywhere for a video of this guitar and couldn't find it) It's most likely going to sound close to A Howard Roberts Fusion III or An es 135.

What does that set you back? MK seems to have great prices, not sure how they play/are built.
