Hi, no luck at presonus forum by now:

as soon as a vsti is saved as instrument loop (i.e. just one empty midi bar
and any kind of insert),
S1 starts collecting all existing midi slices as performance datas
causing to slow down saves drastically.
Can anyone confirm this please ?

I tried Music Loops once - if that is what you mean.
I tried to accomplish something to be used as instrument template.

But I found that midi clip must contain something that can become audio when saving.
Then was I was able to drag it from browser to a new track.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for reply,
yes, this is a nice and unique feature in S1,
you can even save vsti`s with multiple outs this way ...

If you want to make the saved vsti loop audible,
of course the midi clip must contain notes.
If you want to save hd space instead,
you can save short and empty portions of the midis as well.

What makes it unusable is this:
lets assume you have a song of 3 min with various midi slices/clips
on one track all over the song
and you just want to save the vsti in a small 1 bar midi section
as an audible prelisten and representative instrumentloop,
S1 yet collects all and evrything on this specific track as multiple midi performances and slows down the entire savings during work.

Depending of the amount of midi clips you have in one track,
the saving progress gets slower and slower, even down to minutes.
Thats my problem with it and I am asking if someone can confirm this.
My hope is, I forgot to tick or untick something in general options.

It gets even stranger:
when a saved vsti becomes unused, deactivated, uninstanciated,
S1 still collects all midi slices of one track as performances !
Imagine to have 3 saved tracks this way and auto save on ....
you simply go for a coffee on each saving or nuts !!!

If they render the loop all over every autosave - yes, then you in for a hoot.

I've only used it as track template, immediately removing the saved clip once loaded. this to get multiout instrument setup in one go.

I can't really help, sorry, never used loops.
