Will Stretta vcvi work as effectively as Silent Way?
Ive no experience with this sort of thing, like referencees to "dc coupled interfaces".
Dont even know if this works with Max6

Amazon: why not use an alternative

It can be purchased now if you want to use it. I already bought my copy a year ago and it is still very useable.

You could use it as it is and still get very wonderful results. As for when the final version is done, lets not pressure Andy too much because he should take as much time as he needs to get everything as perfect as he can.

I understand, I already purchased it a long time ago shortly after the first public beta release. I'm just interested to know when the official release / update with the new filter model and GUI will be available.

You must have been tempted to mirror image the filer sections up top. I might still be tempted :)
Thanks! Yep, I was tempted to mirror the knobs up top, but it makes more logical sense to have the drive knob to the left and resonance knob to the right of the cutoff, this is how it would probably be mapped to a hardware control surface so I wanted to have the gui the same to make life easier for people.

Looks like that's what the up/down arrows next to the visualizer do.
Spot on :)

Yes, anything that can create an audio signal can be used to modulate the cutoff frequency, and also gate the envelopes, but there is only one external audio input, so you are better off using midi for the gate / keytrack and then keep the audio for frequency modulation.

Andy, just wanted to drop you a quick note to publicly state that I think you make really startlingly good products. Top shelf stuff. I do wish they were priced a bit lower, but, well, not every dev can be Klanghelm, LVC and friends, making pro-tier competitive software for shockingly low prices. Your value propositions are still very high.

I admit that I don't use The Glue because I haven't bought The Glue - I have SSL bus emulations coming out of my ears, but even so I think this plugin that I don't own that you make probably sounds the best of all of 'em, having evaluated it once. It's a shame that I didn't wait to evaluate it until I had a few more projects that would benefit from it, honestly I wish I could get a reset, as I've got some material right now that could REALLY test it out, whereas previously I was just making some stuff up as I went along to try to see how it would behave; but, my time is up and that's fair play all the way. Credit where it's due, you make one hell of a bus comp, man.

Now... This new plugin (well, new, 2011... and it's awfully stable and feature-complete for a beta... I know, it's done when it's done, that's fair) - this strictly bad-ass addition to your lineup might just muscle its way into my setup out of plain old need! I don't think anything else I've tried even attempts to do what it can. While I'd love to buy The Glue because though I have good alternatives none get that extra 5% or whatever, this is more like finding something that does a whole new 100% and I've currently got zero out of one hundred, haha.

So, kudos for your hard work, thanks for regularly listening to your users, and congrats on your success. I think you have an excellent head on your shoulders and a killer pair of ears, which is a dynamite combination in this business. :tu: I imagine I'll be a customer before too long.

The updated GUI looks fantastic, Andy. It looks almost as cool as it sounds.

The Drop has become a plugin I use constantly. Whether using it to put some nice, thickening saturation onto or add some extra animation to synth sounds, using it to soften transients on overly peaky sources, to tighten and add character to synth bass, or using it on bass guitar tracks to shape the sound in ways similar to the filter-based preamps in basses like Wals and Alembics, it's a real secret weapon for sonic sweetening. I sometimes find myself wishing these filters were incorporated into the voice architectures of some of the synths I use regularly.

Still a bit cramped imho though as a whole it's consistent. Definitely the best GUI draft!
Makes me wanna play with it... NOW! :D
